My second Courageous hull. Later version of Hms Furious, with island done.
Created the merchants in distress, because I got tired of forgetting where the convoy raids were at.
Cheers.
Old modeler and board gamer and fan of history. Axis&Allies scratches all the itches.

“Meanwhile, in the basement of Doom.”
Was staring at a pair of twisted G-8Ns when I started to notice a few similarities to another bomber. Figured since I had a little time, went to work.
Plastic left over from control tower job made fuselage plug, milliput filled the nose. Still can’t believe I got the fin to stick.
Not perfect, but I think they’ll pass as B-29. Still debating how I’m going to do the windows.
Thanks for input. None of my metallics really fit. Remembered I have a Vallejo gunmetal blue to late.
In back is a sanded down B-17 I was using for testing that didn’t turn out to bad either. Dress it up as a Russian copy Tu-4.
My versions of Bismarck and Tirpitz from Hbg. With their bows rebuilt.
Finally a Jagdpanther! I guess 3rd time is a charm.
First 2 attempts were with the current Panther hull, couldn’t get the symmetry right.
Went back to the first gen. panther for this one. The hull being a bit longer and the lack of skirts might help.
Also, I think I’ve found a good cannon barrel replacement material. This is the bamboo core from an incense stick.
Stay safe.
Been bringing my artillery and AA pieces up to current appearance standards. Got bored with that assembly line work, made these.
Have a heavy transport house tech. rule, normally a small tape flag on aft mast is now this.
Greetings again from Colorado.
Formerly Phelan Kell.
My granddaughter had a problem with my phone, decided it needed to be reset. The recovery process has been fun. Had trouble reconnecting, just signed up new.
Been playing war games since high school, old A.H. titles like Tactics II, Bismarck, Submarine, Richthofens war, Air force etc.
Have copies of G-40 2nd ; '42 2nd (for newbie recruiting) ; '14 and I’m pretty sure I’ve even got my old classic and Xeno boards and books floating around somewhere.
Have fun.
A look at some Italians.
Flight deck is from combat miniatures. Was a bit short, made it work. Thinking Field marshal’s sculpt might have been smaller.
Guess you could always buy yourself a 3D printer.
@coedewa
Yeah, not sure how other people keep theirs together. Was hoping someone would share their miracle primer with us.
I gave up on stiffening, the last attempt was with barrels and super glue, they just started breaking off at the hands. Ink lets it flex without losing it’s color. Up close as a miniature it’s a little iffy, but on the board it’s perfect as a game piece. Ankles I have just resigned myself to touching up periodically. Don’t think it’s the J color just the long thin nature of the sculpt allowing more bend.
I can personally say that HBG’s Axis neutral (pzf) & the Japanese paratroopers are great, had no problems with either. Would hope all their inf. sculpts are made from the same stuff.
Be safe.
@coedewa
It’s more the chemistry and flexibility of the plastic, not any mistakes. I tried stiffening rifle barrels with super glue, to using a vinyl sealer hoping to get better adhesion. With no luck.
I’ve had some success touching up weapons with blk. sharpie.
Don’t know what happened to the base on the left. Almost looks like something spilled on it.
So only people with computers that can play on line are eligible?
@RYNO87
Didn’t think there were Carriers in that version.
Those look great!
At a good price also. I had to pay $2ea. for my pewter universals.
Knowing these were produced mainly for the Battle of France game, what are the chances of you expanding the line? Like the Semovente from the old field marshal set, or a few of the many types of Su’s the Soviets made.
Nice.
The first ones I made also had a small round base.
Gaming experience showed me that people tend to use them as movement handles. After a few stacks got “nuked” by falling ships, I changed them to a longer rectangle for better piece stability.
@Gentlegamer
If you have the system, you have it. I don’t have the material with me but here’s a cpl. examples of adjusting techs to the global system.
Super subs turned into Adv. torpedoes lvl.1 att +1 lvl.2 def +1.
Since no sub detection anymore, radar/ counter radar is now Adv. Destroyers and Adv. Subs that adjusts their pre-combat initiatives.
Airborne radar 1&2 allows bombers to strafe subs without destroyers and a +1 Sbr.
Was UK last time used, these were ones fresh in my mind.
Stay safe.
@Gentlegamer
I really like that R&D system.
Still in use, as a rule option, although the list has been changed and expanded.
@Playing-Kid
Not much worse than a creased matt.
Mt first try would be to warm the fold with a hair dryer/heat gun, depending how much heat the vinyl can handle. May help you move the material back into the correct position.
Luck.
