I have been teaching my 8 year old to play with this game, and so far it is great. He is working on math, pre planning, geography and causal skills. I think this game is perfect for a quick fix and or for teaching. I think there is currently a significant Axis advantage although my proof is only antidotal, after I have a few more games with someone who knows what they are doing or against myself, I will have a more definitive answer. But I will say every build counts in this game, and pre-planning is a must, any singular bad build can loose you the game, especially for the allies.

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
This whole deal is not worth you all making into a huge discussion! I got 4 sets of Marines from Coach and one was short one, another had 2 extra. This happens with a lot of the games and extra parts. Face it, its going to happen! If its a large error then I am sure FMG and Coach will take care of it.
I agree!

RE: A REQUEST FOR HBG
What I said originally was to have only AA guns be colored since they can be a casualty.
I agree everything else should be a neutral color.

RE: A REQUEST FOR HBG
I agree I would like to see.
Navel bases
Air bases
AA Guns (country colored since Alpha +3 makes them an actual unit)
Minor factories
Major factories
Victory cities

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
I noticed that HBG infantry are just a tad taller than OOB, and FMG Italians are just a tad shorter. It is such a small difference that you can’t tell on a board when all the units are mixed.
My wife is Italian and I have been to Italy several times and I can tell you first hand they are pretty short, so I think your scale is perfect. :-D

RE: Need help getting Jap Tac-Bombers
You could also order the Tac-Bombers from Historical Board Gaming.

RE: United States Set from Historical Board Gaming!
Coach,
Are you going to open these up for pre-order soon?
-
RE: Possible "Unoffical Pre-order"??
I just ordered one of each plus a few extras.
Thanks, and no rush. It will be a nice surprise when they show up at the door.
I also did not use the ROMMEL code because I want you guys to have the extra 5 dollars. I will use it when I buy Germany though.
Thanks FMG!

RE: FMG Italy ready before October?
I know, I’m considering therapy.

FMG Italy ready before October?
Will Italy and the dice be ready before October? I keep checking, twice a day or more to see if they are up yet. Sorry to be pushy, I’m just excited.
Thanks,

RE: Missing French Pieces
Oh boy, I really got the ball rolling. Sorry to anyone who got offended it was just a little friendly jab. Since everyone is throwing in their two cents I will add mine.
During WWII it was really not a question of individual bravery or inability that lost the fight, it was poor leadership and some bad strategic chooses that were compounded by a bold German plan. I would say the individual french soldiers performed admirably and too many paid the ultimate sacrifice, you can not take anything away from them for many died with their guns in their hands.
The french simply fought poorly because they were poorly led, had they had Field Marshals whom could think outside the box and whom could fight more offensively then the common view of the French would have been different. It is too bad that some of us (myself included) sometimes fault an entire nation for the actions of just a few of their leaders.

RE: Any good ideas for keeping units seperated
I have OCD with the opposite problem. I need to keep everything together and organized in a fishing tackle boxes. Every country uses at least one box but many use two, one for land and air units and the other for naval. I also keep all of my AA boards together and have everything packed into a wooden WWII med box, wrapped in plastic of course. I have issues……

Add me to the list baby!!!

So the French are missing? Insert your own joke.

RE: Tank Purchases R.I.P.
I for one think Tanks are finally balanced, a cost of 6 is perfect. They were way too cheap before. We had too many games were tanks ruled and they often would comprise a countries sole purchase. Now things are as they should, Tanks are still useful for winning combats but inf will win the wars as is true in real life.

RE: HEAVY BOMBERS NERFED TO WORTHLESSNESS???
I’m sorry but this is the best thing ever to happen to heavy bombers ever. Heavy bombers ruled all, it really was a game of luck, whoever got heavy bombers first always seemed to win. We would omit all tech rolls in our games solely because of Heavy Bombers, now I’m thinking of adding them back in. I have been lobbing for this rule change for decades and I’m glad that others are finally seeing it! I love the new Heavy Bombers!!!

RE: Tanks too expensive
I have thought for many years that tanks should cost 6, I for one am very glad to see it happen. I would like to see a light tank though, move 2, 2-2 or 3-2 or 2-3. I need to play around with the idea more but I think it would be a great addition at 5 points.

RE: Another new product with plastic AA style miniatures!!!
I just sent them an email asking them to please sell the pieces individually. They said they would pass the suggestion on to the rest of the team. If we all hound them then they might just do it so we could buy them without paying the 60 or 70 dollar retail for the entire box.
Here is the contact info.
