:-? How on earth (and Mars to, I suppose) are you supossed to buy 3 carriers, 6 fighters and some infantry IN_ONE_TURN!?!?
It costs 129 IPCs at the LEAST
other than that, It does not make much sense. Not attackRussia??

The allies will either give Russia 3 art, 4 inf., 1 fighter or do something that is not of much concern to this strategy
TURN ONE
Purchase 10 artillery. It is critical later on in the game for you to have a fairly large amount.
Use your Airforce and subs to eliminate the bulk of the British Navy and use your other subs to pass through the convoy centers and clog up the ocean. Use your tanks and a few infantries to make some weak but successful attacks on the Russian front.
For non-combat moves you should reinforce the Russian front with as many infantries as you can, but don’t touch the guys on the western coast. Move the men from Eastern France to Germany and bring all artillery to Germany, except the stuff in Norway. Move the stuff from Norway to Finland and use your transport from the Danish Sea to take in two more artilleries from Germany. Land all your fighters in the France/Germany area.
Place units in Germany.
THE ALLIES
Russia will most likely take back their territory and reinforce Karelia.
Britain will buy navy and kill a few of your subs.
USA will most likely buy fighters or destroyers and take back their 6 IPC convoy center.
TURN TWO
Puchase 13 or 14 infantry.
Using everything in Finland, invade Karelia (use fighters if nessesary). If possible, stage a LIGHT attack on Leningrad, but it is not nessesary. Continue to suppress the british navy.
Take all africa troops to Tunisia and 2 inf. from southeast Europe also. Retreat from the Poland/Baltic States area into Germany.
THE ALLIES
Russia will reinforce the front and might take Poland. This will help you if they do it with enough guys.
Britain will continue working on its navy, and might take Finland or Norway. This is of no consequence to you.
USA will start to dominate the ocean and take back more convoys.
TURN THREE+
Purchase as many tanks as possible.
Attack in Africa. Using the giant stacks and fighters in Germany, head toward Moscow. You force from Karelia sould keep going too.
If you feel threatened by Britain or USA at ANY time, buy a stack of inf. and bring your fighters to Germany.
I would really like it if people could tell me what they think of it.

they could also be used for strategic bombing, but you divide the total of the missile rolls by 2 to get the amount of IPCs taken. :wink:

Shore-to-Ship Guns
Movement: 0
Attack Factor: 2
Defense Factor: 0/2
Cost: 15 IPCs
They would basically be like forts with guns like those bases in Hawaii that were built during WWII. They could be placed anywhere that you have one of your own inf. units to build it. The inf. could not be used for anything else that round, though. When faced with an amphibious assault they get to return fire for the bombardement. Otherwise they defend @ zero! zip! nada! When there are ships in an adjoining seazone, they can attack those, but only one round of combat unless there are friendly ships in the same zone. If all friendly ships are destroyed, then combat ends. At the end of a land battle, if only the fort remains, it is taken over by the enemy. A fort can be destroyed, though it takes two hits. :D

I think it is a waste of resources to go after them becuase there is virtually no ipc gain involved. the only problem is that the chinese soon become so numerous that they can almost drive you rite off of the continent!

I am playing my first ever game of A&AP as Japan against 2 experienced players. Please answer this poll to give me an idea for what to do. If it is going for IPCs, how on earth do I stay safe from the allies?

You’re all wrong. The most powerful thing is a combo of 2BB and 2 des if you going for BBs and des only!
The absolute most powerful minifleet is a loaded carrier with destroyers and a BB!
try reatreating all inf and art into germany but attacking with your tanks. so what if the rusians have a stack of 20-30 inf! on 1st turn get art. on 2nd turn get inf. on turn 3 start attacking the russians with about 15 art + 20 inf and buy tanks every turn. :wink:
i did this and i totaly decimated and destroyed the russian stacks of approx 35 inf. moscow was mine by turn 6 or 7. (i can’t quite remember.)
It is ABSOLUTELY so possible for the germans to take out the us. i played my dad once and he decided to go for the us. only problem was that he was only using his medit. fleet of 1 BB 1 Des and 1 Trans. it actally ended up being that he and the usa had no troops left! the attacker and defender were destroyed! if he had used a bit more, he might have succeded! :wink:

they may only fire in 1 round of combat and then they are destroyed automatcally.

i would suggest that, as the allies, you use usa to quickly build an invasion fleet to secure north italy. let the british get approx 1 sub per turn for the convoys and fly aircraft into russia. securing north italy early is good b/c the allies gain control of the mediterrainian and south east europe
