Maybe we should move this discussion to another thread.
What really pisses me of that these expensive boxes come with not enough pieces, and some game versions even come without paper money! They save some 50 cents production cost assuming that everyone has money from other A&A versions that they can use. If A&A wasn’t such a great game, that would be enough reason to boycott this board game series.
@Panther thank you ever so much! I installed version 2.6.14366 - and choosing casualties and continuing worked!
There were actually numerous hits by the Allies, so I am glad that I only tried locally, LOL :joy:
And yes, going forward I will assure to play the same version as the opponent and not upgrade during the game. It was just too tempting, this time, as it allowed for automatic forum posting from TripleA.
I can finally confirm - the issue is solved with TripleA version 2.6.14435
Thank you again everyone for getting involved - I love this community! :-) And special thanks go to Panther!
@gamerman01 @Sovietishcat @FlyingBadger
Sovietishcat, Gamerman is right, and the chances are that FlyingBadger will win. Would you still be willing to wait until Monday (7/31) to lean about your opponent in the Playoffs?
@gamerman01 once Trulpen played 11 games in parallel and complained that it was not his turn in any of them, LOL
I just discovered that the German A&A Club gave medals to certain players, for example to league or tournament winners, and ribbons for players who played 50+/100+ games etc.:
I think that would be fun. Of course this would need to be kept up to date like the trophies for gold patrons near the profile name or in the league table, so I am afraid this is not realistic. Just an idea…
@MrRoboto thank you for sharing. It all looks quite equal with the exception of OOB, where the Bid should apparently be higher.
@MrRoboto it looks like your WW2 lasted until the 80s 😁
I am also strongly in favor of an annual tournament with only one bracket. This should not be an issue with OOB and PtV in the near to mid-term future due to the relatively low number of participants.
We can work a lot with byes, with top seeded players only joining in round 2 or 3 and the defending champion only in the semi-finals, for example.
At the same time, we could make the days-per-turn rule stricter in the first one or two rounds of the Playoffs and say two days per turn for round 1.
Of course, you can still ask for a break in case of business trips, sickness or whatever, but this should shorten the first Playoff round(s) by a few weeks.
Thank you all for your work by the way!!
Speaking about different TripleA versions: I think it is a good idea and habit if we would also mention the version number, when we start a new game and post the new topic.
That way it will be easier for followers to load and look at a certain savegame now or later.
Posting not only “good luck and have fun” but also the TripleA version number and ideally the bid spending should be beneficial
What do you mean by “open up a game” - launching a new game or loading an old saved game?
Interesting!
What about making Normandy-Bordeaux an Allied friendly neutral? The Allies could still produce there even after Paris is freed.
@trulpen Hi guys, the rule book states the following: “Land Units: A land unit can move into any friendly or friendly neutral territory, (…).” As the ex-Russian territory is now Italian territory, it should work. I think I heard aboiut it in the past, and I believe it is an OK move. I also forgot about it. And I haven’t even looked at the saved game yet :-O I will do so now and play Russia.
@gamerman01 Yeah, these colors… Too often I assumed the wrong nationality of ships next to Australia, LOL. Thats why I now have the setting that a small nation’s flag shows near the units.
@trulpen yes - that’s true. Let’s just continue the match.
TripleA version 2.6.14476 Good luck and have fun!
Economic victory: Germany and Japan are victorious if they have a combined National Production Level of 84 Industrial Production Certificates at the end on one complete round of play meaning every player has had a turn). Russia is free to attack on turn 1.
@barnee Well that’s cool - thanks a lot! Although this website doesn’t work anymore. But I guess Photoshop will do the job as well.
