RE: USA Peacetime Income Increases for Japanese Battleships and Carriers
@hbg-gw-enthusiast Once when you place it on the production chart and once again when you place it on the map. You are correct in your thinking on both counts!

RE: What on earth are the pieces that you need to play Global War 1936?! Like, just an actual list of useful pieces please.
@linkler I also made use of my old 80’s axis and allies pieces for battlecruisers and coastal subs as well as risk cavalry. I denote cruisers between light and heavy with different colors of paint on the bow and stern. The possibilities are virtually endless in what you can do for units in this game. I am currently buying HBG pieces to replace certain units and or make upgrades as I can.

RE: What is the best thing to do with strat bombers?
@trig yes, you are correct I got that backwards, but the ability to transport airborne is a useful one. Though not as useful as actually doing strategic bombing or carpet bombing in my opinion.

RE: What is the best thing to do with strat bombers?
@david-06 they can also noncombat move infantry class units, which can be quite useful to reinforce a weakly defended position.

RE: Version 4?
@david-06 that is a great thought but I imagine the logistics of doing something like that would probably drive the price up instead of down.

RE: Version 4?
@chris_henry
The argument on the Japanese sneak attack, has been ongoing for a while now. The rule in the book states that Japanese ships can move 5 spaces when performing the sneak attack and the argument is carrier based aircraft can only move a maximum of 4 spaces according to the rules. I am paraphrasing but just trying to give you a basic understanding of the argument. In my opinion the Japanese aircraft should be allowed to participate in the sneak attack, this I believe is the spirit of the whole sneak attack scenario involving Japan. I am sure it will be straightened out soon if it has not already been and I just missed it…which sometimes happens. -
RE: The FAQ Thread
@insanehoshi in answer to question one Yes.
Question 2: you can bomb a railway to break the chain, you can also bomb a port or other naval facility to make them useless until repaired. -
RE: The FAQ Thread
@insanehoshi in the scenario above Germany possessed both Hungary and Slovakia prior to the Soviet attack therefore the Soviets declared war on Germany first.

RE: Europe/Pacific War 1936...
@jon-b my suggestion would be to play through the prewar conflicts as each side a time or two. Abbisinia, Spanish Civil War, and the Chinese Civil War…throwing Japan in after a couple of turns. I believe these conflicts were placed in the game to help warm people up to the mechanics of the game and as a way for new players to get their feet wet so to speak.

RE: G40 naval ideas
Historically speaking air power should give you more bang to the buck than naval power.

RE: Returning to A&A after 30 years, advice sought (long post, sorry)
You could always open up a new can of worms by painting the old sculpts.
