Thanks Krieghund.
There will be a few “Zeros” in the seazone, but with an attak of 3 or less. :-D
For Example Japan and the US are not at war.
Different surface warships of both sides are sharing a seazone.
Now Japan declares war on the US.
Is it possible to leave some ships/planes in the hostile sea zone for combat and move with the others ships/planes outside?
(For example leaving the planes in the sea zone and move the CV away)
Or have they all to leave at once?
Thanks Krieghund.
Planing amphibious operations vs. the US-Player at the moment. :-D
Scary move! :-P
Let’s reroll the battle without those “offload-blitzers”.
If you keep France you win the game in turn 1.
MUHAHHAHAHA
@Flying:
Just wondering why they did not just print these starting units on the board? What is the point of cardboard pieces?
Leaves the option for a 1941 or 1942 setup scenario, handmade by Larry Harris!
Amphibious landing scenario:
Is it correct, that the attacking player has to anounce first, how much units go into the sea battle,
and after that decision the defending player decides how much planes scrambel?
UK was undaunted by a single German transport in my game, and the German airforce plus a bombardment from a battleship and cruiser were enough to take the UK on G2. A single German tank and 1 bomber survived. In the other game, the situation was similar, though the UK player had less defending England at the time.
Lucky shot and bad defense.
Leaving only 2 infs in England at the end of UK1 is abig mistake…
1 tac bomber is minimum for an G1 attack on france.
Yes, Italy took france, but Germany lost too much ground forces and misses 17 french IPC’s.
Yes, it’s works, but does not win the war.
to Bodeacious:
In strategy B the philipines will be a target in J3. Most US-Players evacuate the plane from the Phillipine Islands.
to Bodeacious/Blitchga:
said before: Do not leave you transport undefended at the coast of French-Indo-China!
BB+CA+DD+DD+SS+SS+CV(2 Planes) is the minimum of ships you have to leave in the Sae zone to prevent an UK first strike.
Can’t hear “Sea Lion” anymore. :-P
Well, it’s fine that Germany has enough economic power to force Sea Lion in G3.
Congratulations! It’s what we dreamed on in the revised or anniversary edition.
But is Sea Lion really a global match winner?
All the money for planes, transports, etc.
Terrible losses of planes and ground units which you need urgently at the eastern front.
What to do with all the transports? Where are the ground units to fill them? Who defends France? Where is the money for plane rebuilds?
A russian player producing tons of infantry, artillery, tanks and a few planes for 37 IPCs per turn only waiting to kick in the small grey line in Poland an Romania.
An US-player spending every IPC in the northern atlantic to reinforce the UK, invading France and North Africa by the way.
Sea Lion can’t be the solution.
Maybe I’am a too conservative Axis&Allies player, but I see only one way: Kick the Homefleet and then full speed east! :-D
If you give a major power to a newbee, you have too care too much for his turns.
Russia could be an option. :-)
Not much fleet and amphibious operations to care of…
As the japanese player I want to reduce the pressure on germany as soon as possible by cutting of the soviet far east income.
Planed an attack on J1 with all Manchurian troops and 1 tank, 1 art, 2 inf from Japan.
If you seperate the russian troops it’s more easier to beat them. (…blitzing through siberia)
Don’t know if it’s worth to get the 3 IPCs for Korea… :?
My idea is, to use the higher russian startig income to buy a tac-bomber and fly a figther or figther/tac bomber from Leninrad to the Far east. This is an option to strike back on R2 or R3, or just secure the russian backdoor.
I also break off a chunk of the fleet, usually 1BB 2DD 1CR 1AC with 1ftr and 1 tac and several transport and place them off the coast of FIC…
Important Point.
Prevents the UK from from a “First-strike-attack” on less or unescorted japanese transports.
Ok, So I can only presume that when Russia declares on Japan on R1 that Korea is a gonner to 3 or 4 Inf. Which by the way puts pressure on Japan to retake it, as well as all the other directives they have for J1. Maybe some Tank/Mech combos heading east??? A plane or two?…
Any Russian strats out there?
AC
Attack on Manchuria on R1 ?? Impossible! If the russians concentrate in Armur, they will be kicked…
Russia don’t need much troops to secure the chinese border. A few infantries, cause china keep the money and can build in every territory.
Italy!
Action!
Own decisions!
“Big Brother” Germany, who is watching!
J4 lasts too long in my opinion.
Can’t wait 3 turns while my european comrades are fighting for lebensraum.
Thougt about your reports.
My first production will be:
2 subs, 2 transports
second:
2 subs, 1 artillery, 2 transports
third:
minor complex (Manchuria strategy A, FIC strategy B)
tank, artillery, 3 infantry
Strategy A: Ignore the russians and hold the line in Manchuria. Get “everything” to FIC, go for Yunan in J2 and crush the chinese inf production + Flying tigers only with planes, tacs and bombers (maybe you loose 2 - 3 planes). Rush throug china and go for the russian border. Meanwhile prepare a J3 attack on UK ships, Malaysia, Kwangtung, Borno and celebs. Freeze the UK income from sumatra and java with 2 subs each. Go for a major complex in Malaysia in J4.
Strategy B: Hit the russian in J1 at Amur with all the Manchurian stuff and two loads from Japan. 10 - 11 ground units will survive. (think the russians will only pplace 1 infantry there and concentrate out of land-unit-range) The go for Moscow throug siberia. Meanwhile prepare a J3 attack on UK ships, Malaysia, Kwangtung, Borno and celebs. Freeze the UK income from sumatra and java with 2 subs each. Go for a major complex in Malaysia in J4.
This is the game of games.
Everyone of my playgroup was amazed.
Normaly I don’t by a second copy of a game, but I will buy one A&AE1940 + A&AP1940 for Christmas. :-)
Thanks for the reports! :-D
I have to think on it and comparing it with my ideas.
