How about using a very thin coating of superglue to strengthen the rifles, and stop them from cracking? Then prime and paint. I expect the Japanese Infantry would be the most susceptible to this.

RE: What do you want to be the next AA game?
I dunno… call it a guess. Midway would have US forces in it for starters, and could have more tactical game mechanics involved? A lot of general fleet actions, maybe air combats too…

RE: What do you want to be the next AA game?
Hello bjh418, and welcome to the forum! :-)
I expect Larry will do a Midway game next, if anything. Maybe Market Garden but I doubt it.

RE: E1940 instruction manual?
I expect WOTC will post the manual a few months after release, if we’re lucky.

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
Okay, so am I correct in my understanding that the supposed Fiat BR20 Transport - Medium Bomber piece is now actually a Japanese Betty bomber and will not be included in the Italian set? FMG, can you please confirm? Thank you.

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
I believe you are referring to the Fiat BR20 (This unit was actually a medium bomber during the war).
As for the Savoia-Marchetti SM-79 Sparviero bomber, I understand FMG have designated this unit as a heavy bomber. Although according to many online sources, this unit was originally designed as an air transport.
FMG could you please clarify your Italian air unit designations? Thank you! :-)

RE: FRANCE and ANZAC COMBAT DICE - HELP us design them!
Also, for those of us who have never owned any FMG Combat Dice, will it be possible to order the Entire Set including Anzac and France? Thank you so much!

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
It is my understanding that FMG will be using the Bofors AA Gun for the generic non-nation specific piece:

RE: What do you want to be the next AA game?
I would really love to see a Eastern Front/Operation Barbarossa game. It could be Stalingrad, Kursk or whatever. It would have Germany, Soviet Union and perhaps a third player (Italy? Hungary/Romania/Finland/Bulgaria?). Yes, I think we should have two Axis players and one Allies, for a change. And no US or UK. How about that?

RE: How many mistakes on Europe 40??? Let's wager ;)
Okay, so does anybody know what Tank sculpts the Italians will be getting?

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
Hey FMG, I noticed that the new SM-79 Sparviero Bomber unit has not been posted into the main FMG Italian pieces thread. Just to make you aware of that.
Okay, so just to confirm the complete Italian air units we have:
Macchi C202 Folgore Fighter
Breda BA.65 Tactical Bomber
Fiat BR20 Medium Bomber (This unit actually was a med. bomber so am I right in thinking that the Transport is for house rules etc?)
Savoia-Marchetti SM-79 Sparviero Bomber (Is this unit a Heavy Bomber? According to many online sources, this unit was originally designed as an air transport, so I’m not sure about the Fiat BR20 being a Transport…)
Just trying to clarify what all the Italian air unit designations are. Thanks!

RE: Next A&A Big Battle game
I voted for:
'Battle for France’ - this was a campaign of many strategic possibilities and I sense there could be a lot of ‘cat & mouse’ battles between the armoured units. It would be nice to have a really detailed version of this front.
‘Stalingrad’ - it’s gotta be done! German and Russian reinforcements pouring from both sides of the Volga into the meat grinder. A real tactical level map with anti-tank guns, snipers, the lot.
‘Operation Market Garden’ - this would be a great campaign. US, UK and German forces, for starters. Three bridges to capture, enemies surrounding on all sides. It would be a very exciting game.
By the way, it lets you select more than three items. I don’t know if it will allow you to submit more than three though… I also note that so far we have 4 voters but only 10 votes. So, I guess people can choose less than three scenarios each, right?

RE: FMG GERMAN pieces
Yeah, I’d be cool with that. The 250 is a neat little machine.

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
Personally, I would be happy to use the new Italian Truck peice as either Motorised Infantry (house rules) or Mechanised Infantry (OOB). I know that the two can hardly be compared, but at the end of the day, it’s still mobile infantry we’re talking about here - armoured or not. I believe that all powers in the game should have the same/uniform representation of units.
I’m not too keen on an Armoured Car unit representing Mech Inf, but we will have to wait and see what FMG comes up with. If it’s the best they can do though, then I’m still happy with it because at least the Mechanised Infantry unit will still have been realised/delivered.

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
Would it be the Autoblinda AB43, by any chance?
-
RE: FMG russian TANK
I vote for KV-1 and Other - T34/76. Yes, I know that’s a OOB mini but I don’t care; I want it! FMG, please make this unit. :-)

RE: Ceasefire!
I can see no situation where a ceasefire would mutually beneficial. And I, for one, would certainly not give my opponent any quarter whatsoever. They can expect nothing but the ‘whole nine yards’.

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
Yes I agree with IL; SPA (Self Propelled Artillery) is the term given to things like the Hummel, Wespe, Bison etc. AG (Assault Gun) is for things like the STuG III, Sturmtiger, sIG 33B etc. And obviously, TD (Tank Destroyers) is for things like the Nashorn, Jagdpanther, Marder, Hetzer etc. And I suppose that Self Propelled Gun is a common collective term for all these different classes/variations.
I agree that we do not need this level of discrimination between the classes of Armoured units for the Global or indeed Theatre level games. However, if FMG are only producing these sets to replace the WOTC units, then yes, it would be great to have two types of Tank for each nation. Italy has a light Tank and a SPG so far. I for one, intend to use these FMG pieces not just for A&A, but also for other games (including my own) and it would be fantastic to have SPGs on a Tactical or even Operational level. This is my opinion from a historical standpoint.
Also, from an aesthetic stanpoint, I am somewhat scratching my head over the sight of SPGs on the Global and Theatre level. It just doesn’t look right, as these uinits were normally a Brigade-sized attachment to the Armoured Divisions. However, if we do indeed get 6 Tanks and 6 SPGs for Italy, then I can’t see it being too much of a problem as I will use the Tanks first, and only use SPGs if I have to. :-)

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
As for German SPGs, I think either the Hummel or the Wespe. I believe the Stug III was an Assault Gun, and the Elephant (or Ferdinand) was a Tank Destroyer.
