I am a Mormon or LDS to be politically correct. It came up second on my list at 96%. Then every thing from Orthodox Judaism to Islam to “Baha i Faith†comes before Catholic. No wonder my wife and I have heated debate over religion.

Victor,
My cousin is moving to that area. He and I are into classic, and revised. Let me know if you are intrested.

Hey all,
My cousin is moving to the Buffalo area and wanted me to put some feelers out there for him. A&A classic and revised are his big games I’ll try to get him into AAM. Any one intrested let me know.

Hey all,
I hate making new topics left and right but I haven’t seen any thing like this come up before.
Has any one toyed with the idea of a hospital? I haven’t played AAM very long do they even have medics? Just thought I would bring it up its a good debate any way even if its not a good idea to put into play.

Dezrtfish,
I hadn’t thought of the distance being diffrent. Thats deffenitly makes a good point. Is there a diffrent shape out there that will fit together like a hex but gives units better line of sight?
Before some one asks about how the defense rating for the sides works what I had thougt of doing was having the defender roll a die like you would for cover.
I’ll deffenitly look into the other options for aiding the distance problem. It seems like a lot of work with the chains, although it does seem fair.
Let me know if you have a diffrent solution or come up with a formula for easy conversion.

Hey guys / gals,
I have never totally been in love with the idea of hex spaces. I know they make it very easy for maneuverability and there is no wasted space but I made an octagon style map. (or stop sign shape)
PROS:
1 ) Every unit now has the ability to make a 90 degree right or left turn.
2 ) Increases every units line of sight.
3 ) Gives your units more options in movement.
4 ) When making your own map its easier to lay out.
CONS:
1 ) Unlike hex spaces octagons don’t line up exact so you will have dead spaces on the top, bottom, left and right.
2 ) Because of the dead spaces you have less spaces for the same size map.
If you like the idea of using the octagons here is how I did it.
1 ) I used a ¼ sheet of 3 ply, plywood. I’m sure you could use a variety of other material I used this b/c this is what I had on hand at the time.
2 ) I used the same dimensions as the four hex sheets.
3 ) I made my octagons 2 ¼ inch tall and same size wide.
4 ) Depending on your skill with shape layout it may be easier to make a pencil mark every ¾ by ¾.
5 ) Every octagon will need 9 spaces something like this.
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
Spaces 1, 3, 7 and 9 will be diagonal.
6 ) The dead spaces (located next above 2, left of 4 to the right of 6 and below 8) will all be ¾ inch wide and tall.
Have any of you folks tried this? Let me know what you think,

Meijing,
I’m not trying to argue with you (you’re a lawyer come on who would win this debate?) but the way I have always seen it is you need faith to believe in God. You also need faith to believe there is nothing. That’s just gospel according to me but I’m curious as to what you think of that as I have never met an agnostic before. I live in northern NY where our diversity mostly consists of tall white Catholics, short white Catholics, fat white Catholics and thin white Catholics. (No I’m not a Catholic, I’m a Mormon. Although to be politically correct I should say I’m LDS but most people don’t know what that means)

“randomized casualties system”.
How will that work?
-LT04
I have come to realize more and more since I have been on this site that there are to many variables to make a general statement like “witch country is the hardest†You not only have to include the aspects of each country but also each player. Some players may be better at tactics and outrival others as Germany others good at statistics and probability and do well conserving Russian forces wile still others talents may shine in economics and excel as the US.
So it’s hard to say because there is no true answer. 8-)

When I was in the Army I learned the difference between y’all and all y’all. And yes there are more than one type of southern accent.
-LT04
Cyan,
:? What was the need for the southern accent? You said you lived in Conn, New York and California. I fail to see where you could have picked one up from. On another point you seem like a very ambitous young man if all goes your way and you prepare yourself you could make it to pres…

I was initially unimpressed with the ART b/c I figured it would act the same way the battleships do. That they could sit in the neighboring territory and bombard removing any enemy casualties prior to the battle, mean wile sitting safely out of harms way.
-LT04
Was ART worth adding to the game?
I can see the need for destroyer’s b/c you need a navel unit cheaper than a CV can attack air units and does more than 1 out of 6 damage, but I am wondering was ART a needed addition. Yeah it’s an intermediate unit between INF and ARM. The meat and potatoes of any attacking force, and yes they do boost INF attack stats. However, I think in some cases players buy ART when they normally would have just kept INF and ARM. Let me illustrate my example:
Lets say you wanted to buy 8 INF and 2 ARM in classic, in revised you now choose to buy 6 INF, 2 ART and 1 ARM. Now you have spent more IPC’s and got less units to show for it. Yeah I’m sure you can explain how the dice stats can off set the lesser number of units, but my counter is yes you have a lesser number of units b/c you sacrificed the INF budget.
I am curious as to what your thoughts and opinions are regarding the matter,

Dezrtfish,
RE: “I just requested a Mini’s routine that hits on higher numbers, we’ll see if that can happen.”
Any luck with that so far?
-LT04
OK one more question,
Whats the diffrence between:
Contested Skies
D-Day
The Reserves
Are they all diffrent games? Are they all part of one game?
thanks for the info,
-LT04
NOOB question,
I’ve been looking on the internet for AAM units. The cheepist way as far as I can tell is to buy them by the case. OK so for the question: How many booster boxes come in a case?
-LT04
Motdc,
Have you had any luck getting started on the AAM on-line experiance?
-LT04
Yep you are correct. between that and Halo 3 it looks like I got to buy a Xbox 360.
