Me too. All too serious. The election has me worried, but there is nothing we can do about it. May as well relax and see what happens.

RE: Animal fights, part 2
I think a Sperm Whale could kill a Killer Whale because it would take a Killer Whale way to long to finish off the Sperm Whale. It just could not do enough damage before it got tired. A couple good chomps from the Sperm Whale would kill the Orca. Pretty much the same would be true of the others as well. Except the Pirahnas I suppose, but can you imagine the size of school it would take to kill a Sperm Whale!?

RE: My annoying lunch
Dzrt,
I was playing along for fun, but are you actually saying that Kerry’s drivers are worse than Bush’s drivers in some way forcing you to be delayed more. You realize that they are pulled from the same Secret Service pool at this point right? Same guys… No differance at all… The Lurch thing is fine. I hate Bush so I go after him in silly ways too, but this is abit beneath the depth you normally swim. Can you prove you are actually Dzrt? I am starting to think someone has hijacked your account! -
RE: Debate #3
Nuthin to say man. We have different perspectives. It’s cool. All I am saying is I disagree based on what I saw. This one is not black and white. Intent plays into it.

RE: Debate #3
Dzrt,
This time I disagree on substance. I saw the original interview when it happened. At the time I went nuts. It was not out of context. He was trying to minimalize the importance of Osama getting away. It bugged me then and it still bugs me. -
Debate #3
I vote Tie. Nuthing that really mattered. Bush lied about Osama. I think it’s a big deal, but I don’t think it was enough to win.
The attacks have started. Oh well. Avote for Bush is a vote for more of that crap. Yeah…

RE: My annoying lunch
I voted Lurch. So is Bush a fashion plate now? Hee hee. Sorry about your fries.
Because of Bush I could not go to my local game shop afew weeks ago. He was speaking at the High School down the street. Now THAT was annoying! -
RE: The debate
Except for a couple points Brother. #1 it’s the law. If the money comes from government funds you can’t “legally” keep people out. If the money comes from party funds they can. #2 Arn’t you the guy who wants debate? ;) Who does it help to silience the opposition? Do we get a better government?

RE: Animal fights, part 2
Sperm Whale is pretty tough. Plus it’s capable of diving much deeper. So depending on the location it could change the outcome.
-
RE: Animal fights, part 1
It would also matter where the fight took place. If the other animals fought the Polar Bear in Sub Zero temperatures they would freeze to death and all the Bear would have to do is wait for em to die.

RE: The debate
Dzrt,
The differance is you will be allowed to go to a Kerry rally and protest. Try it at a Bush rally. ;) -
RE: The debate
WMD… What are WMD? How does one make WMD? Being honest, the tough part is knowledge. I would bet dollars to donuts CC could make some interesting WMD if he wanted to. Frankly, I am pretty sure I could. Even if it does take special skill, how many Chemical Engineers live in Iraq? How many Microbiologists? How many world wide? It’s achedemic really. It’s a waste of energy.
If I was one of them how would I hurt America? Simple, use whats there. Use whats easy. Like they did on 9/11. Why smuggle crap that could be noticed? Why waste time bringing a weapon that I could accidentally trip and kill myself. Dumb. These people are not dumb. They will find drones and give them a plan. An easy plan. They will say, find a train that carries whatever nasty substance you wish to name. Or find a truck carrying it. Get your hands on it and put it someplace like a water supply, or downwind or whatever. How hard is it to derail a train, or a truck? Anyone and I mean anyone can make a bomb. Have a bomb ready to strap to the pile of bad news…
This is what you should fear, if you are gonna spend time being afraid.
If you want a safer country, spend money watching our boarders. Spend money on cops, FBI, CIA, Firefighters and forcing companies to take great care with dangerous materials.
Finally, spend some time trying to make sure as few people as possible hate us so much they will commit suicide to kill afew of us. Fear will not work. Someone willing to die, even hopeful it will happen will not be intimidated.
This is why Iraq makes me angry. 120 Billion dollars. That would pay a bunch of boarder patrol. It would pay a bunch of Cops. It might have made the differance on actually “getting” Al quida.
Regardless, I still believe the threat is overblown. Maybe I am kidding myself. If so I choose to keep kidding myself. I have kids to raise and a life to live. I will not do it in fear. Being prepared makes sense. We would be spending money in AMerica my way so everybody wins. Fighting them there, so we don’t have to fight them here? Get real. Our boarders are swiss cheese. (See the post on cigars) It only takes one guy to do what I mentioned above. If we cared about being safe we would start at home. -

RE: Vice-President Debate
I loved how when asked about trying to make links to 9/11& terrorists etc on going to Iraq Channey said “he never said that”… He’s getting old. Memory fading I guess.
I admit that Edwards came off as inexperienced. I also think a fairly important thing was highlighted by Edwards though. This administration has lied to us on numerous occassions to get their (Chenney’s since there can be no doubt anymore about who is actually creating policy) way.
The ticket really should be Chenny Bush, not Bush Chenny. That said, Chenny is a better President and I feel better knowing he’s in charge than W. -
RE: Vice-President Debate
Janus,
The flip flop thing has been done to death. It’s just not the deal they are trying to make it into. What Kerry did on Iraq makes sense to me. I was not thrilled with the vote on supplimental funds, but put in the context it occured in, I understand why he did it.“bushs flip-flops, were different. he had strong opinions, than eventually, reluctantly, changed them, when it became clear the people wanted him to. i like that”
Rather than debate if he flip flopped, lets look at what he was aginst.
The 9/11 commission. A group to find out why the 9/11 attacks succeeded and try and make sure it never happens again.
Department of Homeland defense.
Why? That matters allot more.
In fairness, I was and am aginst the formation of the Department of Homeland defence. personally.Oh well. This whole thing that people are buying into bugs me. A Democracy in the Middle East will not have terrorists? Why? On what are we basing that? Has everyone forgotten Oklahoma City? Timothy McVee was not from the Middle East.

RE: The debate
Janus,
I understand your position. If I did not know Sadam’s history in the region I might agree. The truth is Sadam was… shall we say a pretty bad neighbor. In Desert Storm we where given a nod by all the surrounding Arab nations because everyone knew Sadam would have hit them next (if he had not alread, ie Iran, Kwait). Finding a buddy to give em too would have been hard in other words. A quote comes to mind. “The only men that keep secrets are dead men.” Had they been given to someone, we would know now. Heck, I am 100% sure they would be using them on our soldiers, if they had em.
In the final analysis, Sadam wanted to stay in power. He was willing to do anything to stay in power. Certainly destroy the weapons. -
RE: Vice-President Debate
While I agree that Channey won the debate, it’s not on points. He won on style. That certainly was not what I expected. Regardless, nothing that mattered got answered, which is as expected.
I think the Republicans did some research this time. Sadly for the Republicans no amount of prep will help Bush for Friday. ;)

RE: The debate
Janus,
How do I know he disarmed? Well, my assumption is that he did have WMD at some point. They are not there now, so… -
RE: The debate
Wargamming,
CC is correct. Sadam did give us documentation that he said proved he disarmed. The US did take it and refused to share it until we had a chance to view it. The UN was not pleased by this. We decided that it proved nuthing and attacked. Now I have not seen the docs, from what I gather not many people have. Those that did see it said it was junk. Maybe it was. That was my point. If Sadam had a good Accountant, we would not have invaded. He failed to PROVE he disarmed. He did disarm.
The history books will show we invaded because Sadam failed to prove to our satisfaction that he had indeed disarmed. So we get to look… steadfast and resolute."That would send a great message to the world; “it’s ok folks, neither the UN nor us mean what we say the first time, and we’ll give you several chances after the first ultimatum. Take your time.”
I would prefer that to sending the message that America will attack you no matter what the truth might be. Personally I am shocked that Bush did not plant some WMD after the war. Poor planning is all I can think. It’s certainly not that he minds manufactoring evidence.
