I think a good Italy politics house rule in G40 if that Italy isn’t at war at the start of the game. Italy can declare war to any ally power at any turn. UK and France only can declare war to Italy if Paris is conquered by any Axis power.
With this rule if you conquer Paris with Germany, the game is the same, but you cannot attack Paris, giving 1 turn more to France and saving Italian fleet keeping out british attack of first turn.

While Turkey is netrual, that’s unoffensive, but germany would attack it tryng to buy ships in romania and then take caucasus easy.

I have another two questions.
If you unload units from an allied transport, can you load units in the same turn?
If US is at war can place units in dutch territories (without getting control of them)?
I have some questions on 1940 rules:
1. If two bombers are bombing two different buildings, Are both buildings screen together or separately?
For example a strategic bomber is bombing an Industrial Complex and a tactical bomber is bombing an Air Base. Did the defender roll 2 dice (and you choose your casualties) or did he roll 1 dice defending IC and another dice defending Air Base, for each bomber?
2. Are National Objectives and convoy disruptions obligatory?
For example Germany wants to conquer London. Germany has subs in 109SZ but he didn’t wants to disrupt convoy because he wants to collect more IPCs in London conquest. Also, London has all original territories but he doesn’t want to collect the 5 IPCs of NO because they are going to be owned by Germany.
Can UK force Germany to disrupt convoy, and Germany force UK to collect NO?
France falls very quickly in the game, so I thought a house rule when France is first at order… but with some rules and Setup Changes:

Italy is neutral, but Italy became inmediatly at war with France and UK if Germany conquer Paris.
I think this make more historical, and make more strategic the french and german movements (Germany would not attack France to save Italian fleet, but France wouldn’t buy navy and became very strong with 2 turns of purchase)
There are some old versions of Global 1940 as Alpha1 and Alpha2? In TripleA there are Original, Alpha 3 and Second Edition, but exists another Alpha in .xml?
