      I suppose it works out that way, as most of the machines used by, say, the Turks, were supplied by Germany.  There were a lot of arms and training given to the American troops by France, as well.  Though, Pershing wanted complete autonomy.  A lot of sharing going on with the Great War.

      @CWO:

      Thanks Cyanight and John – glad you find the identification charts useful.  For an actual history of the evolution of the sculpts, I highly recommend knp7765’s photographic inventory, located here…

      http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=23386.0

      …because my I.D. charts approach the subject from a different angle: in almost every case, they simply show one representative sculpt for each nationally-distinctive design produced to depict each unit type that has appeared in A&A over the years.  The charts mostly ignore the many variations (some minor and some major) that have been seen in the sculpts – for example, the two versions of the Japanese field artillery piece, which was produced with the undercarriage either folded for towing or deployed for firing.  The only exceptions I made were for the Panther tank, the 88mm AAA gun and the Stuka dive-bomber (interestingly, all three being German units) because of the peculiar evolution of those three units over the course of A&A’s production history (especially in the case of the gun and the plane, which started out as completely different – and incorrectly-used – units compared to their current status).

      Thanks again Marc, I had forgotten about his thread. this will be very helpful as well. 🙂

      @koba:

      I’m old school on the ink wash thing.

      I use a bottle of ink and the floor polish. I think I mix it like 3:1 polish to ink.  I don’t generally dip my pieces. Usually  a 5/0 or #3 brush works best to apply the wash. When doing ships, I’m careful not to wash the decks as I find it makes the whole piece look dull. I just do the edges around the castles, guns and other little details.

      Let the wash dry and then dry brush your pieces. This really brings out the detail/contrast. I use flat Krylon  ColorMaster (spray can) for sealing/protecting. My pieces are handled a lot and it works the best.

      Thanks Koba for your input. It is really appreciated. 🙂

      This will be the last pictures until the end of the year.

      The US EUROPEAN FORCES will be the next set that graces my map, followed by the GERMANS, but it will be awhile before the Axis can get on the board.

      I hope you have enjoyed the pictures.

      John I’m guessing you may have it already, but Battle Cry 150th Anniversary edition is readily available and improves upon the previous edition with almost twice the battle scenarios.

      Anyways good luck with your search.

      Tolerone77, I have two copies of that one and the original, and it is a great game, but I I wanted one that plays like Napoleon in Europe and this is as close as gets, till HBG produces their new Civil War game.

      Thanks for mentioning it and thanks for wishing me luck. 🙂

      No problem John. If I find it I’ll send you a link if I find it anywhere.

      Thanks buddy! 🙂

      Just in case anyone needs parts, or would like to build a game for way less than the $170-200 complete games are going for. This does raise a question. Why would anyone replace the pieces with Battue pieces to be left with an all cavalry variant?

      @Spitfire38:

      Hey John, I have painted them before. It was painstaking, but I think I can simplify it a little bit and make it look good. I will see what I can do. Once I get my hands on my old pieces, I can send you a photo of my old Flying Tiger! Also, are you planning on using the P-40 Warhawk for that?

      Great, I was worried about that.  I’m going to finalize everything and send you China and Australia, next. My sticker guy has not got back with me on the Union Jacks, so I will not be sending UK Europe and Pacific, at this time, till I get some answers. Yes, the OOB P-40 is what I will have you paint.

      I’m going to try to ship you these by next Monday. 🙂

      Hey guys, for those of you interested in stickers, rather than decals, Ray is trying to make as many World war 1 and 2 stickers from all different countries.

      Keep telling him what you want, and he will try to make it.

      He has told me some of you have been requesting many different things, so all your ideas are being heard.

      Just wanted update this info to you, because it is working. 🙂

      Yes, that is it! Thank you.

      If someone could make a video, but longer, of their game, at least till all powers are at war, it would help.

      It would help some of us that don’t have a regular play group to learn it faster.

      I’m going to try to provide a place to set this game up at my house and learn it on my own, but any help, visually, would help as well. 🙂

      You do not need to clear a seazone before an amphibious assault if the seazone you are unloading into has only enemy transports or submarines.  In the case of submarines you must have a warship (Carrier, Destroyer, Battleship or Cruiser) escorting the transport so you can IGNORE the submarine before the amphibious assault begins.

      @Yavid:

      I just checked out there site and the battle of britian set and industrial and rails, South America, partisans, seaplanes and seaplane tenders are all gone and Superweapons UK and Italy were put in there place. A couple of those I would have liked to have seen the light of day some of the ones (read zombies) I don’t care if it comes out

      You’ve been absent, quite a bit. Have you been busy, lately? 🙂

      Judging by the fact it took me 3 weeks to answer the question. Yes very busy, working 10+ hour days 6 days a week and taking care of the mother-in-law.

      Well, I hope your doing well. 🙂

      yeah I am. I’ve been so busy I haven’t even had a chance to put my Japanese set away. I went through it and checked it out but they are still in the box they came in

      If there ever is a third edition I could see new French units for Europe and new US units in the PTO.

      Great idea!  I love it.  That would definitely solve the question of how to introduce a new set of equipment pieces in Pacific to balance an upgraded French equipment set in Europe.

      See Larry, I’m full of good ideas! Just put me, KNP, CWO Marc, John Brown and all the other sculpt hounds in charge…. well at least of the sculpts.

      I will second that! 😄

      You’re right. Having your SBR’s shot down by AA really sucks! Generally I only SBR if my bombers don’t have anything else to do, which they should if you position them right. You’re welcome.

      Yeah, because that is an expensive plane to replace, LOL! 😄
