I have been allies in 2 games where G went west and AH went east.

In both, my R consolidated its forces and pushed AH back, while G failed to take Paris in the face of F, GB & (eventually) US opposition.

I mention it as it did happen, but I would not draw too many conclusions Duck. In fact I look forward to trying it myself when I play axis next.

I was thinking about destroying the British fleet in Germany’s first turn with everything I’ve got, so the Brits can’t send troops to the continent.
It’s a gamble, but if I pull it off I only need to face France. The UK might get scared and spend IPC’s on rebuilding its fleet, which will also relieve the Ottomans.
Maybe I can send just enough troops to the eastern front to keep Poland contested together with the Austro-Hungarians, so I don’t lose Prussia’s IPC’s?
I believe the biggest problem as wove100 said is Austria-Hungary. They will have to deal with Italy and a stronger Russian player.
I’ll probably have to balance between sending just enough units to Venice to keep it contested and attacking Russia together with the Ottomans.
Does this sound reasonable?

Hello all,
I really want to try the Schlieffen Plan next time I play as the CP in A&A '14, but I am aware that it is quite a risky undertaking.
Especially because my friends and I always agree Switzerland is impassable.
Any suggestions on how best to achieve this?

I live in Europe and got my extra pieces from HBG EU.
Unfortunately they only had infantry left for the British and Italians.
They don’t resupply anymore as far as I know.

Yeah, HBGeu is situated in the Netherlands so the shipping costs are really low for me (Belgium).
It just sucks that they don’t have any German sets for A&A 1914 left…

Hello, I have some questions that might have been asked before (so sorry if that’s the case):

1. When the Russian revolution happens and Russia still has control over a territory that used to be neutral (e.g Sweden).
   Does this territory become independent/neutral again?

2. same situation but with Romania or Serbia.

3. do submarines get a surprise strike in this game?

4. Can submarines only submerge after one round of combat? So e.g if one cruiser attacks one submarine, can it still destroy the submarine if it gets a hit in the first round of combat or can the owner of the submarine choose to submerge from the start so there is no combat at all?

5. can airplanes participate in naval battles?

I recently bought A&A 1914 and it’s amazing !
A friend and I played it for 7 straight hours and it still wasn’t clear what the outcome would be, which kept the game very interesting.
We never really ran out of playing pieces, but we used chips as much as we could and both played very aggressively.

So, I was thinking about buying extra playing pieces to give us a bit more freedom.
I know the Germans need extra pieces the most so I’m going to buy a German army set
( 3 inf, 2 arty, 1 tank, 1 airplane, 1 sub, 1transport, 1 cruiser, 1 battleship, 3 roundels).
But which other nations need extra pieces the most?
It doesn’t seem very neccessary for Italy, the Ottoman empire and the USA, but what about France, Great Britian and Austria? 
What did you guys do?

I live in Belgium, so I was thinking about buying them on HBG EU.
Is this a good site? I saw that they don’t sell everything I need. Does anyone know if they update their store frequently?

A friend and I have been playing this game for a while now
He’s playing axis and I play allies and it’s usually lots of fun.
Though, we always seem to be using the same strategy, which is getting a bit boring.
Especially the Soviet Union isn’t really fun to play anymore because it’s just spamming infantry every turn until the other 2 allies can turn the tide.
Do you guys have any good different setups for the troops that it can be more fun to play with soviets but doesn’t break the balance of the game?
