Multinational Forces Submarine Rules
Sorry to ask these questions so late but it has just come up in one of our recent games and I couldn’t fine the answer using the board’s search engine. So….here goes:
A sea zone containing an English cruiser and carrier with one fighter along with a Russian sub, is attacked by a German fleet containing one sub, one bomber, one cruiser, and a battleship. Neither side has a destroyer.
The questions are:
1. “does the Russian sub get first strike capabilities along with the German sub?”
2. “if 1. is yes, does it fire back on a roll of 1?”
3. “if 1. is no, does it defend on the normal combat roll?”Any help would be appreciated…thanks!

RE: Tampa FL - Looking for A&A Players
Every thing sounds good to me except for the drive to Ellenton. How long of a drive is that?
The drive for me from Temple Terrace is about 45 minutes. I go straight down I75 so if you could find a convenient and safe place to park your car just off I75 you could ride with me. I have a friend from Lakeland that parks his car at Moe’s, just off Route 60 at I75, on the nights that we go to Arena Football at the St Pete Times Forum so maybe you could park there. We usually get started late in the AM and play a little after supper. We normally go out to dinner for a break but that’s not set in gold. Since we are retired we can play any day of the week and can set the game day for any week day or weekend your prefer.

RE: Brandon FL
Two of us usually play once a month in Ellenton and would love to have a third. We play Global '40, 1st Ed., with Alpha 2 Rules. Our win/loss criteria is a little different from the normal Rules. We just played last Wednesday so it will be a few weeks before we play again. We are in our 60s and retired/non-smokers. PM me if you are interested and I will email you my phone number.

RE: Tampa FL - Looking for A&A Players
My ISP (Bright House) has sent a lot of my email back lately. I think they are having some system problems. Seems to be OK now. No, haven’t found anymore people interested except for one player that lives in Ellenton, near Bradenton. We have played in the past and at one time had five players but over the years three of them left for various reasons, mostly job related. So, I guess you would say that right now there are only two of us. We are in our 60s and retired. If you’re interested, we’d love to have a third and hopefully grow our group back to five.

RE: NEW- Official Global 1942 version of the game- by Larry Harris
Our group is going to try this version next weekend and I have just two questions:
1. “There will be NO major neutral Powers” – What is a major neutral and how are neutrals played in this version?
2. Is Germany 5th or 9th?

RE: Manatee County, FL , Looking for players
HI Jeremy! We have a very small group that plays once a month. Currently, we have just two players as we have lost a few in the last few months. We play Global 40 (alpha +2 with house rules), '42, Revised, and are currently waiting for 1914 to arrive to give that a spin. Would love to hear from you as I’m sure our playing location is close to you. We have all the AA games except 1941 and global 2nd edition. Send me an email at jonreeder@tampabay.rr.com and I’ll reply with my phone number.

RE: COMBAT DICE UPDATE - FMG
can i order the elite dice now on the website then?
You sure can but who knows when you’ll get them. I ordered mine a week ago and when I asked Jeremy when they would ship he replied that they were sold out and he was waiting for another shipment to arrive. Since then I haven’t heard anything so who knows. He has my $28.00 but I have no dice.

RE: Does anyone have the link to the aircraft range counters?
Yup…one you make yourself - print’em out, cut’em out, glue’em on some stock - and the other you buy. Still a choice.
-
RE: Does anyone have the link to the aircraft range counters?
Um AFAIK those aren’t the ones mangey1 was referring to.
Well gosh, golly, and gee whiz, now he has a choice, doesn’t he.

Here ya go: http://www.historicalboardgaming.com/Custom-Aircraft-Token-Markers-Roundels_p_363.html
I’ve bought several cards of these and they really come in handy. Look around at their other stuff, you’ll be amazed at what they have.

RE: AA players in central Florida. Three in our group so far.
Where in Central Florida?? I live in Tampa and, being retired, might be willing to travel once a month if the distance wasn’t too far. I play AA50, AA42, AAP40, AAE40, and AAG40 (Delta +1). I currently play once a month with a group in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. Three years experience.

RE: Finally, I have my map printed! Oh, yea!!!
……The reason I ask is that some other members have made up maps for free download…
Could you point me in the direction of those down-loadable maps??

RE: Changes still needed to the game, IMHO
I completely agree with Jennifer.
Thanks for the time you put into this, you should post these concerns in LH’s forum in my opinion.
Thanks again.
I’m with Jennifer on this - particularly the US split economy.

RE: How is the balance with the new Alpha 2 changes? Please give your view.
@Cmdr:
……To me, that means forcing America to split its spending just like England has too, and for exactly the same historical and strategic reasons…
I agree 100%! I also agree that the abundance of NOs simply force you do something that you may or may not want to do. This should be a strategic game of choice and chance, not a scripted theatrical performance. Our group just finished a game of AAE40 where we used the Alpha.2 setups (really like this) and only one or two NOs per country. Except for the US, IPC gains came from taking territories. We gave the US a blanket 20 IPCs once war broke out. The results of this game were very interesting as after three days (yes days) of play, neither side was winning so we declared a draw. Our group does not include any inexperienced players so the skill level was fairly even. Our next game will be a global one where the US economy is split between the Atlantic and Pacific with the only US NOs being 20 IPCs for the Atlantic and 10 IPCs for the Pacific. In a nut shell, I think that the setup is balance but the NOs are just too much.
