buying an extra bomber aint not a bad idea. I played a game last night -lost it offcourse :wink:- and i hit a lot of transports with my bomber. The chances are quite high you can hit 3 transports with one single bomber, my opponent had to place a battleship on US east coast to protect his newly build transports. And i used my bomber for bombing missions in Russia, if you combine this with a japanese bomber, the russians hardly have any ipc’s left to spend on defences.

i never start a game with a goal in mind, offcourse my aim is destroying the opponent, but i never decide how before i start. I just wait and concentrate my forces on a central point from which they can do damage to several territories. Then wait what happens and attack when chances are good for a major victory.

well it did for a part, it slowed his advance and building it in indo-china didnt hurt russia. I was able to get 30 IPC’s production for Russia and thereby powerful enough to defend all my lands while the americans and british were able to invade europe.

I just played a game on the zone again. I played all allies and took germany down in only 4 turns =P. He was focusing on taking my IC in SA so his european defence was a bit weak. Soo on turn 3 i invaded France with 4 infantry, 1 tank, 1 fighter and a bomber with US and destroyed 2 INF, 2 tanks and 2 fighters there. I had no units left to take the territory but i saved my fighter and bomber. Then on Russia’s turn (turn 4) i invaded eastern europe and took down all his armor units and a fighter as well. Which left him with 3 INF in germany and 4 in Italy. Sooo he resigned :smile:
The Japanese player was taking south asia in the meantime but couldnt hurt me as well. He bought an industrial on turn 1 :wink:

but if you use all your infantry to defend a certain line then your tanks will be destroyed if you counterattack.
For example: Russia has 4 INF in Leningrad, 6 INF in Belorussia and 6 INF in Ukraine and like 7 armor in Russia. Now if Germany attacks Belorussia then all your infantry there will be crushed. When its your turn you are placed in a situation which is not good:
If you counterattack you can use all your armor to take the territory, but you will lose all these armor units on a german counterattack. So you must use infantry from Leningrad or Ukraine, which means weaken your defence…

not do manchurian attack? Japan can easily counter attack that with use of the battleships support. Then your whole russian force in the east is destroyed…
Concentrate them in Yakut and use reinforcements from russia to attack Japan in South Asia, with about 8 infantry in Yakut, you will be safe for a while. -

I use armor for small scale attacks in Scandinavia and for large counterattacks when germany shows a weak spot. You can send one to Africa as well. Anyway you should have about 7 tanks, i use 1 in the north (Karelia), 1 in the south (Africa) and the others in central russia where they can quickly be send to counter-attack weak german territories.
Artillery only has a move of 1, so they must be next to a German territory to attack, so I use them as defence as well.

germany receives about 25 IPC’s by only holding the european mainland. If this is all spend on infantry then it will take about 10 turns to defeat them. At that time Japan not only has reached Moscow but is also capturing the whole of africa as well and maybe alaska/canada/western us. The western allies will get seriously weakened by this and a major attack on germany will be made impossible.

I've been doing some maths today
and found out that 360 IPC’s is worth:
45 submarines and transports
15 battleships
20 aircraft carriers
30 fighters and destroyers
24 bombers and factories
90 artillery pieces
72 tanks and anti-aircraft guns
120 infantry:smile: i think 360 is the only number* that is able to describe all units in numbers without decimals. Might be useful when calculating something :smile:
*: offcourse it is also possible to do 2 times 360 etc. Because you would just double the numbers but 360 is the lowest and therefore most easy to use number.

I played 2 or 3 games now and germany won both. If you use the subs to destroy the britisch fleet, capture the 3 convoys in the south atlantic in the first time then the english and american troops are gonna need like 3 or 4 turns to mount a succesful invasion in West-Europe. In that time the german armor has taken half of the russian territories (usually the south as russian defence is concentrated in the north). Its very tuff for the allies to beat germany.
