So if we badger WotC for replacement boards what do you think are the chances they never make an axis and allies game again? Cause they really didnt want to give me those jap tac bombers or the replacement battlestrip.

RE: Axis or Allies Wins in Those Who Have Played Global…List them here.
I have been playing axis and allies for a few years, and have always found axis on the ropes to be common, doing well early on happens but Germany is in the end fighting 2 and a half powers (UK/USSR, and mild attacks from US in most cases). So yeah, they are outnumbered, and since the US comming into the war sealed the deal (it only lasted as long as it did because the US had to prep to go into the war, and if the armed forces they controlled in mid 44 existed in 41, things would have been very different). I almost feel like Risk players are complaining it isnt on equal footing, but as someone who enjoys history, I like seeing a game where I have to fight tooth and nail to get an axis victory. Also, seeing as some people spent so long screaming japs are broken, maybe he overcompensated this time resulting in your current position on the subject. I will personally have fun learning how to dominate the allies, and happy victory wasnt handed to me, cause if it was, why would I play? And no, I dont think Allies have it handed to them either, as they still need skill, and above all else, luck.

RE: A few questions/issues relating to first Global game
I agree, free moves will allow players to cover ground at a rate that otherwise would not be acceptable. I know it isnt free moving, but I still dislike the idea if i get as I believe it works. I say nay nay.

RE: A few questions/issues relating to first Global game
@13thguardsriflediv:
One more question, if an attacking naval force is destroyed completely and the defense has stuff left is the attacking transport that carried units to be landed also destroyed?
Interestingly, in the same battle the defenders carrier got damaged and the planes had to escape to a neighbouring area, but couldn’t land in the area being attacked by the land forces (which would have been reinforced by those seaborne land units), right?
Yes to the first unless I am really reading this wrong, as they were part of the attack, and since transports auto die when in the same zone as enemy ships and unguarded, they are removed with the last attacker’s ship, as they are then unguarded thus destroyed.
For the second they are only allowed to move 1 space and it must be a friendly territory. The kicker to this is you dont move the planes until the noncombat phase, thus the land action would be over one way or the other, so if it is still yours, yes, land, if not the point is moot.

RE: Anzac tech?
ANZAC will be in the same boat as Italy in 50th, can research, but will need to either save a bit at a time, and only buy research tokens once in a while, and hope to flesh out to afford more. I figure a turn 1 tech token wouldnt be terrible for the chance it may land you cheaper ships or better units.

RE: Storing pieces
yeah, I am going to use something like that inside the table.

RE: Storing pieces
it ist a bad idea, and one that crossed my mind in a similar form, but as I want to save some space and just store my nice boxes in a place I seldom go, this would actual take more space than I want. I had an idea in my head that for home storage I would build a hollow table that the top latches on, was building one for warhammer anyways, but by making it hollow I couldmake it so the global map could stay open at all times and all be left set up with no fear of giant space cats cutting WW2 short, and have an area for all my boards and pieces in there as well. For travelling I would suffer using the boxes I guess.

RE: Quebec players?
well, then this will be my last post on the matter. What part of Saguenay. I go to Chicoutimi every month or 2, and having met some warhammer players there will likely be going once every month if I can for games, may be interested in aaa one day and then that the other if possible.

RE: OH JOY!!
hand them out? what qualifies such a gift, as next release I may just aim at that lol.

RE: OH JOY!!
anniversary was limited run, so no, this will not happen, I can still buy Pac a year later at the same price. They may drop these in like a year or 2 when the next best thing is ready, but I doubt it even then, as this is probably the masterpiece, anything else will be different. And to be honest, other than rule changes, what can they add now without going 39 or maybe pre-war? I may be wrong, but my bet is anyone buying copies to sell either wasted a tonne of money or are going to be selling them at cost if they are lucky (i would never give someone full price for a game even if it wasnt opened when I can buy my own at a store)

RE: Accurate Miniature Equivalents for Custom Painting your 1940 E&P
@Dylan:
It’s is defiantly a ppsh. why would they be holding a tomson. I always thought they were holding a mausin-naguit.
because umm it they can. I also think that a tomson and a tommy gun are different.
Thompsons and Tommy guns are the same thing I am pretty sure. I think Tommy gun is more a 20s/30s gangsters moniker. The main difference is you often see Tommys with the drum, Thompsons with the stick, but almost any gun can use mags or drums, just depends on how much shooting you expect to be doing/weight you can carry.
