Well sweet, I aplaud you 8-) Just one more: Why do the Germans have no fighters? To me they should atleast have 1 in the reinforcements box. Also I don’t have the board, and the ABattlemap doesnt show the red arrows. Could you please tell me which blockhouse fire were? :-D

RE: Who was the GREATEST
I voted Hitler. He was a very great man, after all he did take over all of europe and it did take 3 super pwers combined forces to stop him.
But my true great person would have to be JFK.

Allies in trouble, Help!
Me and my A&A friend have bin playing Europe at War on the ABattlemap. There is oficial rules, but their realy complicated so I sort of made up my own rules. All in all though it’s very similar to any other A&A, just altered IC costs, movements, and I added in those square things as fortifications. We’ve bin playing for about 3-4 months now (France refused to give in).
Anywho, heres the sit rep: I’m the Allies and I’m in deep trouble. The Italians after the whole game of being held off smashed through Al Alamayn. The UK had almost no reserves and wass easly pushed way back. Qatar is the only outpost left in the SE end of the map and will probly fall soon. With that the USSR is being threatened from the south now. the Battle against Germany is turning into a complete standstill with the germans with a slite edge. In the west, America is only creating a minimal effect as it can’t get out to the UK cause of all the Axis ships. Same with Brits, They’ve made a comeback, but the Germans are still holding them off. Also the UK is getting carpet bombed! The Axis have Scapa Flow so the whole island is vunerable. I got him to stop bombing London and Bristol with AAs and fighters, but it only has mimimal effect.
I don’t know if anyone can see it or not by I’ll post the map here. I’m at a loss! I thought I could win, but now with no Middle East, the Caucaus being swallowed up slowly, and the Atlantic going no were fast, I don’t know how to get out of this one without some miricale.
EDIT: Alittle change, He threw some 60inf 30art and 20arm at Stalingrad so thats gone and surounded the lower Caucauses so no their completely gone…I’m screwed arn’t I

Few D-Day questions
Few questions: Tactic card 10 Combined Assualt-ALLIES, it sounds like to me it allows the Allied art to support the inf but can only be used once. I thought any art in the attack allways backed up the inf. Is it different in D-Day, do the inf allways have 1 and the art allways have 2 without any support? For the blockhouse, what are it’s arcs of fire? Can zone 7 hit the beachead at 11? If Alled units move in on zone 8, can the blockhouse fire inland or do they just sit there? Regarding the 3 citys: Are they complete seperate zones or are they inclueded in the ones they sit in? Ex: Can Allies in 17 move into Caen when theres ger in 31 or are the ger units connected to Caen. Also the whole 8 in 1 zone thing. Does it only concern the Beacheads, or does that include every zone?

RE: Games like A&A?
Theres something called Lux games. They have demos for free download. Theres “Ancient Empires” that has things like greeks, romans, egypt, ect. Also theres “American History” that goes through all the US wars. It’s like A&A, more of a risk thing though. Still fun.

RE: Sturmgewehr 1944
Without the soilder, specifically in this case the US soider. The US would have none of those rights because we wouldn’t be here, we would be ruled by the UK, Spanish, Hitler, Japs, or the Soviets. Cause those soilders were and are the ones who protect our rights of the constitution and what we stand for. Without them the constitution would be a pile of ashes.

RE: Sneaky German Marksmen
Well, there was hayha of finland who killed 552 commies untill he was wounded in CQC during the winter war. Erwin Konig killd about 500 untill Thorvald was sent to stalingrad to distpach him. He found were alot of headshots were happening and sat and waited. Thorvald say a glint under a steel sheet. He steadyed and shot. Later he found out it was Konig and he was rumored to have been shot through the scope and in the head.

RE: Battleground Europe: WWII Online
Well, it is suppossed to be like real war, as son as you get to the front lines, your not expected to get into the action imidiatly. Use a some form of transportation to get there. Alos, they’ve got forums and stuff to help out, and they say you should make a few friends and stick with them to guide you.
Every so often I’ll check their main page were they have a current map and newspapper to see whats all happening with the front lines.

Battleground Europe: WWII Online
I was curous if anyone here has played this game.
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=wwii+online&search_type=&aq=1&oq=wwii+
This game is crazy, it’s like real war(A&A down to the soilder). You can be a bomber, fighter, sniper, tank, AT gun, AA gun, sniper, parachuter, ship, average soilder, mortor and artilery crew, ect, in any fleet, squadren or division. Everything and anything while fighting through every single inch of Europe on one big virtual map. Theres supply lines, production, key capture points. Best of all and unlike other games, you can’t win on your own, you need teamwork. Only bad part though, is the fact that theres a perscription. It’s like 15 bucks or something every month.

RE: PS3 owners??? Hardware inquiry.
If you get the 40G PS3, theres 2 USB ports, the 60 and 80G have 4. Charging only takes mabye an hour, even when playing so you usualy don’t have them plugged in. Just plug them in when your never using it and you’ll never have to recharge during a game. The adaptor I have is a normal PS3 USB cord that goes to allittle triangle with 2 PS2 ports. What’s easyer to me, is have the PS2 and PS3 next to eachother and both plugged on, but when you want to switch, just unplug the video and audio of one, and plug the vid and aud in to the other.
I just got MGS4, man it is awsome. Graphics are amazing and the guns many, and customizable like silencers, scopes, red dots, M203s, ect. (Silenced/scoped M4 baby, they never know  )it also got online too. They have RPGs and mortors man, RPGs and mortors!

RE: PS3 owners??? Hardware inquiry.
Actually, you have to buy a certain adapter. See, the PS3 uses USB ports for it’s controlers instead of those fat wide things. Their wireless too, the only thing the cord is for is chargeing it up. So no, you can’t use a PS2 one, the adapter is about 10-20 bucks.

RE: How American are you?
I got 61% with being completely honest.
Most times you are proud to be an American.
Though sometimes the good ole US of A makes you cringe
Still, you know there’s no place better suited to be your home.
You love your freedom and no one’s going to take it away from you! -
RE: Sturmgewehr 1944
HA! Kalashnikov may not have, but every other person that helped him design the AK did.
I got to hold an MP44 at a gunshow, it was an authentic one for $40,000! (Authentic “typwrighter” was $80k) the stock was realy loose and the metal alittle aged, but it still looked buitifull….
When you shot that MG42, did it kick you back 20ft? I saw this video once, it was an old WWII German vet who was a MG42 gunner. He tried it out after 60 years and went back about 3ft for every burst.
I know what you mean by kicks like a donkey, it wasn’t a 98k, but a modern Mouser and used the same ammo. Got a nice bruse for a week.

Sturmgewehr 1944
Also known as the MP44, although technically it wasn’t a MachinePistol, was the world very first “Assualt Riffle”. Recently I’ve noticed/relized something, with out it, the worlds modern day weapons would be very different. Look at the StG44, then look at 3/4s of the modern day riffles, and there’ll probly be something similar about them. Ex: AK style guns have the shortened riffle cartriges but still have the stopping power of the riffle rounds, the banana style mags, the unique short stroke vented style of gas-operation, all G3s have the same type of stock and foregrip, the ejection port on the M4 and M16 styles are almost exactly the same, ect.
I think it’s amazing what the Germans came up with for this gun and how it’s parts and differnt type of componets are still used today in our modern weaponry.
