@Imperious:
Don’t worry they will win game 4, putting me 2-1.
I can’t blame you here since I don’t think anyone in America anticipated the Finals to end on three straight routs.

The Rangers have played much better on the road all year, including the playoffs, so whatever.
For the second near goal if that same situation developed ten minutes earlier the puck probably trickles in since there would be fewer ice shavings built up. Hard to imagine the Kings losing again but I can’t imagine them playing any better than they did in the 3rd period, so if they slip just a little that could give the Rangers a shot.
I’ll be the first to admit the Rangers were lucky to win that game, especially since Stralman and Stepan made the biggest saves of the game. As hollow as a win down 3-0 is, it felt good to have some lucky breaks go the Rangers way.
It seems to me every time Dan Girardi turns the puck over it results in a Kings goal.
Can’t play the what-if game in sports. It’s why I’m not even thinking about an imaginary scenario where the Rangers won either of the first two games. Besides, Montreal and New York play nearly identical styles that would have struggled against a big Kings team that can skate.
Considering it’s happened five or six times in almost 90 years, you’re not exactly going out on a limb here.
If the Rangers let the Kings celebrate on their home ice it will totally destroy any good will they built up this spring. Brad Richards can’t be amnestied soon enough.
Not fair the US finished first in CONCACAF but is in a tougher group than Mexico, which had to beat New Zealand in a play-in series. France was also given a cozy group as well. Group C looks like the most boring group by far. I expect Greece to advance on three nil-nil draws.
England is in a tough spot, playing Italy and Uruguay. After choking away the title Liverpool fans could then watch their own star Suarez stick it to their country.
I like the one-time fee: it’s simple and fairly realistic. I was thinking of making it $6-7, just to make it a more significant investment.
Just thinking from a balance perspective that investing in paratroopers from the start gives Germany some flexibility for Sea Lion, the ability to add infantry to the invasion without transports is huge.
That was a ghastly turnover by Girardi, it’s unfortunate since the Rangers had regained some form in OT after being dominated for two periods. Lundqvist kept them in the game after being bombarded in the third period. The Kings looked so flat in the first period, it had to be attributed to fatigue from the last series.
Would love to see another 7-game classic, and would give the Spurs a big edge for having Game 7 at home. Despite some hiccups in earlier rounds home court still means a ton in the NBA.
I think Game 2 is the only loss the Habs can pin on losing Price. Tokarski was one of the team’s best players the rest of the series, which didn’t bode well since guys like Vanek disappeared. Grapes can’t be that sour.
I love the level of detail to the map, have you considered using the Star of India from the British Raj for UK Pacific territories?
Godzilla was too uneven for me, a mixture of gripping character drama with Cranston but then gets kinda goofy with Wantanabe and the scientists. Not that either were poorly done, but I’d prefer if they stuck to one tone and ran with it. Also coulda used more Godzilla.
Regarding X-Men, First Class didn’t do anything for me but I appreciate the difference a new director and creative team can make. Heard lots of good things about this one though. Plus any movie that features Jennifer Lawrence can’t be bad, she’s America’s Sweetheart and Action Title Belt holder.
Tokarski was the reason the Rangers had to hustle the entire 3rd period since it was still a one-goal game. But it did look like the Habs were out of gas until they pulled the goalie. Got their best chances since the bonkers Lundqvist save with his blocker on Vanek.
The penalty kill is the strongest attribute the Rangers have, the second being team speed on the counterattack. I think the slower ice at MSG wreaked havoc with both teams, as there were many unpredictable bounces and rebounds. And Tokarski played the game of his life in Game 3, it looks like the Rangers are slowly figuring him out.
The Economist summed it up pretty well: Russia had to get a deal done, and the Chinese got a favorable terms as a result. They’re hardly staunch allies, just global powers that share some, but not all agendas. I’m happy for the Chinese people that the country will burn less coal as a result.
Would love to see this on the big screen. I imagine WB would love to make this but maybe they’re having a hard time finding the right development team. Plus big studios are pumping money into superhero flicks, this one would cost a ton without the benefit of instant branding that comic book movies bring.
The new Wolfenstein game had me thinking about what an alternate Cold War between the US and Germany would look like given your scenario, Kurt.
Wouldn’t a serious German invasion of Britain be enough to convince the American public to join the war in 1940? I assume we would scramble to send poorly trained and equipped troops to Britain, but who knows if that would be enough. Going to war early would also change our posture in the Pacific I imagine. It would create a very interesting domino effect for Japan as wlel.
I consider myself a big Rangers fan and I know all too well how much the team has let fans down over the decades. I still can’t believe they won the first two games in such convincing fashion. And Nash scored two goals to boot!
Believe me you’ll hear from me when the Rangers postseason is over. Just hope it lasts three more weeks.
Good to know since I’ll probably wind up seeing it. Also is it just me or is Ken Wantanabe one of the few go-to guys for lead Japanese roles in Hollywood?
