I think that Captain Video tops them all.

RE: What the heck is this "moral conflict 1941" ?
It sounds like a game that should be in the 40 dollar range based on what little I know about it. I can make little blocks of wood from scrap in my shop and paint them to make markers but who wants that in this day. It appears they may have some new ideas for an advanced game but if one cannot interprete the rules what is the point? So all one would get for their money would be a game map, some ideas, and some charts. Then you would have to add plastic sculpts and make up house rules based on their ideas. Maybe not even worth 40 dollars.

Were your morals conflicted?
I am in a MORAL dilema as to whether that game would work with plastic sculpts. I have heard that it takes days to play not hours. Only us old retired retreads have the time to play it. Anyway it may take a long time before one could find it at a decent price.

Has anyone had any experience with this game in the past year? What about replacing the funky wood pieces with plastic sculpts?

RE: Battle of Prokhorovka (Kursk)
Here is new setup for test game #2. Hope to carry this game to near conclusion as have most details worked out.

RE: Battle of Prokhorovka (Kursk)
First test game. Rain and a heavy defense at a bridge are holding up German spearhead. German engineers supported by tiger tanks are waiting for rain to stop so they can cross the river at undefended area with a pontoon bridge. Second photo shows entire battlefield.

RE: The Great War 1914-1918: Clash of Empires
@Imperious:
everything but pieces…
 Map, rule book, battle board, and all boxes.@Flashman:
The “entire game” minus pieces?
Which is, what, box and rulebook?
Sorry, not worth it. I will still wait on ILs game. Looks like HBG will eventually make some 1914 pieces.

@SS:
Fishmoto, how did you get the seaports and airfield symbols on your map?
I printed them on cardstock and cut them out carefully. Then I placed them in the required spots before laying down the plexiglass. They are not permanent.

RE: The Great War 1914-1918: Clash of Empires
I will admit that AA14 is the first AA game I’ve have decided not to buy. The sculpts, weird map, and lack of matching colors turned me off. Just not my cup of tea. But the overwhelming factor in my decision was the existence of IL’s game. IL, had it not been for you I would have likely shelled out the $100 for AA14 like the AA lemming I am. I thank you for saving me from this and look forward to handing you my cash for this game instead!
I was wondering if any one else thought as I do on this issue. I am with Variable on this. I have been spoiled with nation specific sculpts. No more games for me with the same sculpts for each nation. I want to see ILs game. It will take a special game for me to get into WW I.

RE: Favorite Star Trek Captain
100 reasons why Kirk was better than Picard.
http://www.comedycorner.org/12.html
My personal favs are:
91. Diplomacy for Kirk is a phaser and a smirk.
71. When Picard was 37, he was only Captain of the lowly freighter, Stargazer. When Kirk was 37, he was Captain of the flagship Enterprise.
46. Picard’s middle name isn’t tough or awe-inspiring like Tiberius is.
42 Picard hasn’t fathered any children; Kirk – probably millions.
37. Kirk once made a cannon out of bamboo, sulphur, potassium nitrate, charcoal and then fired diamonds into the hearts of his enemies. (Need we say more?)
31. One Word: Fisticuffs.
30. Kirk’s name is hated throughout the galaxy.
22. The Klingons didn’t have a word for surrender – until they met Kirk.
18. Picard allows cats on board, while Kirk beams away even really cute things, like Tribbles.
6. Three Words: Flying Leg Kick
4. Kirk traveled through The Great Barrier, met God, and wasn’t even impressed.
3. Kirk’s bedroom is a passion pit with electric sheets.No doubt that Kirk was the Trek Guru!

RE: Tigerman's Barbarossa Game now at HBG
Yes, if the Germans are held up for lack of supplies it can be very bad. They must make progress before the Russians come to full production. Bad weather causes them problems as well. Takes double supplies when snowing. Aircraft not on hard surface airfields when raining are grounded. Germans must have a plan in place before starting the game. Not only for logistics but they must be aware of the increased odds for bad weather to interfere with operations.

RE: Battle of Prokhorovka (Kursk)
@SS:
Sweeeetttt! Is your map from AA mini sets.
More likely from ToI / Tide of Iron I would think.
J. 8-)
ToI is correct. Hoth’s panzers leading the way.

RE: Your WWII Movie
@Imperious:
Well you could just get a British Bulldog and add a helmet… same thing as Puller.
You could have Japanese running around screaming with that Bulldog clamped on the seat of their pants.
Chesty never gained that high of a rank!

RE: Your WWII Movie
@Tall:
Guys,
––A movie that I’d enjoy seeing would be a biography of the complete life of “Chesty” Puller. With a large emphasis on his combat experience from the “Banana Wars” to the many brutal Pacific campaigns, including Peleilu and his heroic Korean experience. He is the only recipient ever of five Navy Crosses, one which should have been a Medal of Honor if not for “politics”. It could be called: “Chesty” Puller, a Marine’s Marine!
“Tall Paul”
Amen Tall Paul. Semper Fi
