The Nashorn was an interm vehicle mounting the 88mm that was based on the Panzer IV chassis.
Heres the LRDG that I completed last fall. Hands down theses were the hardest but most fun to paint.

Its a WotC Veteran Tiger I repaint. The decals are from a FoW decal kit and don’t represent anything historical, just for effect. The Wespe is actually a WotC repaint of a Nashorn which I modded into a Nashorn commander tank which should have historical numbering in contrast to the tiger.
I don’t have time for your humility, you get a badge dammit.  :-D
@Young:
IL, I understand the idea behind monitoring post history, but I’m now regretting removing many of my old topics (lol) like….a You-Tube video featuring my custom table, my Delta+1 house rule thread, and my Cliffside Bunker invites. Fortunately, you have been around long enough to have seen those efforts, and I know I have the main ingredient in this badge recipe… which is passion.
That said… I would prefer to wait until after my latest table modifications are finished, and my game room decorated before I get the honor. As you know, I have been working very hard on a new map, my own global NO cards, my game room renovations, and my relationship with the FMGC weekend… which will all be unveiled in due time.
As much as I am motivated to get everything done for my group of players, and the community members that I am housing in September during the convention, it would be great to feel the extra push of posting my work faster if I knew there were a “Customizer” badge at the end of the road.
I guess what I’m saying is… could you please not give me a badge until I show my latest work. Cheers. Â
Hey I got a Customizer Badge also. I think it is very cool and had no idea I would be a recipiant. Thanks a million!
Thanks for the feedback, its always apperciated.
I haven’t done too much lately because I have carpenters renovating a spare basement room into a ‘Hobby Cave" for gaming, Modding and Painting Minis and playing World of tanks. Its going to be sweet and all mine! It will consist of a long counter along one wall with a desk at each end, one for Painting & one for Computer. In between will be shelves above the counter for displaying minis. I will be able to roll my chair in between them depending on what I am doing. I will also be moving my 4’ x 8’ gaming table on wheels into the cave from the garage when it complete. The walls will be done with Axis and Allies Minis posters that I have been collecting from my LGS over the years. Can’t wait, it should be nice.
You have to think of minis games as a ruleset and not a self contained game. Yes it was a self contained game which was missing certain sculpts but is no longer supported. It doesn’t matter where you get the minis (WotC, Battlefront, Zvesda, PSCo, Command decision, Peter Pig, Quality Castings, Old Glory, skytrex, micro armor and etc), what matters is that you have fun playing the game. Many have gotten mad @ WotC and moved on to other 15mm games in protest which is just stupid. WotC won’t make anymore minis so I’m going out to join a game where I have to assemble and paint the minis but I won’t assemble and paint minis for WotC cause I’m mad. Ive played all the major minis games (yes I’m old) and the clunkyness of FoW and command desision just boggles my mind as to why someone would switch from AAM to either of them. Take the ruleset and carry on playing!
On another note, I own the AAM Database (http://aamcardbase.com/) and searches over the last couple of years have declined about 20% from 10,000 searches per month to 8000 searches per month. It seems that there are lots of people still playing and enjoying the game dispite all the discontent and forum doom and gloom. Again, take the ruleset and carry on!
[EDIT] - I play the land game and don’t bother much with the other two.
Doesn’t this belong elsewhere?
Anyways TOI is/was the crappiest game ive ever played. I scorn the day we decided to invest in the game and its expansions. It has the longest most drawn out turns ive ever played. Its almost impossible to move units and have the game progress at anything but a snales pace. Scenarios are complicated and difficult to create and the company only has so many pre arranged scenarios. I don’t know what up with their LOS rules. The minis are pure plastic crap with poor sculpts and no paint. They only redeeming point of the game is the maps mounted on cardboard and after you rework the terrain they work pretty good with AAM.
I would recommend starting with two basic nations, say Germany or Japan and an allied nation like UK or USA. From there you should acquire a mix of Infantry, armor, artillery, transport, armored cars and a few planes from each nation and play some matches. At that point it will become apparent what you will need to add to your armies to be competitive. Check-out my complete revised card database here for a idea what is available. (http://www.aamcardbase.com/search_AAM.aspx).
Feel free to ask more questions as the come to mind.
Cheers

The Forumini was down considerable time on Saturday. When it came back up the owner said he thought they had been hacked and access to the site cut-off. I hope this isn’t beginning to be a trend to have these game forums hacked by someone who is displeased with our enthusiasm for gaming.
I’m using nginx so there’s no mod_security.
Today the site is super snappy. It’s been a while since I’ve had to do some hardcore operations digging. I checked the dmesg lots and nothing really jumped out either. Watching top didn’t help much. Hmm…
It must be a server issue then.
Damn, I wonder if SMF finally hit it’s limit. The CPU load isn’t really that bad right now. I cleared out about 2G of files, nothing is helping.
Check your mod_security its likely to blame.
I stayed with V1 planes due to the smaller size and the less clutter they create.
The problem is that if it doesn’t work, since the topics are gone, I don’t have an easy way to know if the files were deleted. IF the files were not deleted, I now have orphaned files to find. This forum software is not well designed so it’s a paint o do anything practical with it.
You will know if they are gone because there will be few/no more 404 errors anymore. I know how you feel about phpBB as we have discussed it but if phpBB was that bad it wouldn’t be the most popular forum platform out there. If phpBB didn’t work it would of been gone a long time ago and SMF would be the king, but its not! Might be time for a change.
I’m not certain this forum properly deletes files when an entire topic is deleted. :-o
Its worth a try!
No, it’s not. You guys are creating more games than a large team of people can keep up with. I want something more permanent. The admin solution is a band-aid.
Just set the online game section to auto-prune after a certain time lapse, say ‘x’ many days or months.
Just a quick note to let you know that the latest version of the database is available online. The latest version has the Bandits high AAM cards entered as well as the official errata from A20 and bandits.
http://www.aamcardbase.com/search_AAM.aspx
The following cards were revised as per WotC instructions:
**A6M2 Zero Ace - Reduce Def to 3
I-16 “Abu” - Add Antiair
P-40C Flying Tiger - Change Nation to CH rather than CHINA
Typhoon Interceptor - Reduce Cost to 16, remove Rockets 8
A6M3 Zero Rookie - Reduce Def to 3
Fulmar Mk II - Add Antiair**
They should still be available. I see some available through Amazon although they are a bit pricy.
I think you are OK with enlarging the maps for your own personal use. Is not an infringement unless you distribute them or imply they are your creation and not WotC. Wizards has a fairly comprehensive “Fan site Policy”, check it out here: http://www.wizards.com/fankit/fantoolkitdnd.html
If my old eyes can see them quite well so I suspect you will be good. Almost everyone at my LGS uses these for WaS.
Sorry I sold all my extra minis on ebay a few months back. :(
WotC - Wizards of the Coast (makers of AAM)
FoW, WotC, Old Glory, Peter Pig, Plastic Soldier company, Skytrex, Zvesda and Gaming models all make 15mm WWII miniatures……and Ive built them all.
No they are all painted and assembled but a lot of people sub FoW minis and repaint WotC minis to their liking. The cards are easy to print for the database.
