You can expand the original question of this post to include whether or not the German people of today should feel guilty for the sins of the Nazi’s. The Nazi’s deemed my Slavic brothers in Central and Eastern Europe “sub-human” and planned them to be directed to the death/labor camps after the Jews. Do I hold that against the present day German - certainly NOT !

RE: On the Existence of "God"
The Protestant Reformation was born in Germany, but it sounds like you may have grown up in a strong Catholic area anyway. Where I grew up in New Jersey was like that as well. If you are still searching for a more agreeable Christian group to join, Germany should have various groups such as the Lutherans or Calvinists to check out hopefully within a local area…

RE: On the Existence of "God"
I’ve seen that Protestant services are more of a celebration of God and life. Alot of singing and such. Catholic services deal with ritual and ceremony. The sermons however, do present a moral lesson or a New Testament event.

RE: On the Existence of "God"
I’m detecting a little “hate-Atheism” from the author of this post. Clearly we all agree that the existence of any diety is beyond proof or disproof if you will. As stated earlier, all we have is our personal beliefs and/or opinions in which to conduct this discussion. It seems rather out of bounds to declare any belief system is invalid or wrong. A rather arrogant and ignorant statement. Our free societies are lucky to have religious freedoms. That includes (like it or not) us atheists. The right to believe or not without pressures from government or other groups. Places like this site where one can openly discuss it.
Please tell us Janus WHY you feel as you do. I hope it’s not because the malls are too crowded in December. It seems from your original post you need to brush up on pre-civilization human history if you want to know where beliefs in gods and the start of religion originates from. Our current groups are merely present day forms of our ancestors first take on the world and cosmos.
As an atheist I find myself defending the deists on this thread. That’s the problem with atheist’s - no central belief system. All have personal interpretations on even the simple dictionary definition of the word.
So what do you say Janus, tell us your thoughts…

RE: Desputing Evolution or the bible
Don’t assume what all atheists may consider truth or supernatural. An atheist simply does not believe in the existence of any diety. We must leave it at that. As for evolution, we’ve known for some time that Darwin’s and other’s theories are full of holes. Our acceptance and understanding of that theory (or science) must also EVOLVE with better and newer information. As for truth, this can easily be manipulated to fit one’s belief’s. What I believe is true may not agree with your truth. Who’s right? Who knows…

RE: UK loses Africa.
Initially the Allies might have to play defensive in Africa/Middle East, until amphibious re-enforcements come from London or Washington (turn 2 or 3). A South African UK IC is tempting to a Japanese player to take…

OK, don’t want to touch much of your last post. I would recommend NOT doing anything rash out of anger. Joining military service is one of those life altering decisions: choose wisely and carefully…
