I love the changes that have been made.
What is the current engine being used to play online games?  I would like to look in to taking the game up again.

I hope this often considered too political…

I would just like to pay my respects to the fallen - those who gave their lives for or freedoms and or nations ( although I am biased,i think it’s good that America is still around too). I also want to acknowledge our veterans living with the scars from their Service (Caps intended).  Thank you isn’t enough but I’m afraid it will have to do.

I am tempted by this “mole men” place, however . . . .

LOL!!  just hold you nose if you get off near Powell st. and Market. The area where the Chess players play is the worst area… and the freeks come out at night near China town. Be careful.

San Francisco is the best looking city in western USA.

Last thing an incredible thing im not sure why people don’t mention is about 4:30 or so every day in the afternoon a gust of wind comes in the whole city. It is to me something special, the small in the air of the sea air is like a kiss from the earth.

Its like that moment in the Last Samurai movie when they are tending to the rice fields and the winds come up.

In a way, this reminds me of the WW2 vets last year that complained about the use of torture, and advocated “steak & chess.”

      Jennifer

Chicago Public Schools have a different teacher union than charter schools in Streamwood, Smack.  I know that’s not common knowledge so you were probably unaware of that.

Our union negotiated a credit from the schools in our district that we could apply to our own health insurance plans that we bought from a second party.  Primarily the cause was a change in policy of United Health Care which applied the copay to each line item in a bill (which for a child birth has A LOT OF LINE ITEMS!  You have anesthesia, you have room charges, food charges, medicine charges, specialist charges, nursery charges, etc…it adds up fast!)  Instead of dropping UHC altogether, we negotiated with the school for a clause that allowed us to find a different policy somewhere else and have that amount auto-debited from our paychecks (kinda like what happens for your payroll taxes and if the courts garnish your wages, etc) and applied to our insurance bills.  The only problem with this plan is that if we don’t go with the UHC plan we have to pay taxes on the wages earned that are spent on health insurance.

Thing is, however, UHC was charging us a lot more than BCBS is charging me and providing worse coverage.  I, personally, think the reason for that was because we were a captive set of customers.  We had to use UHC so they could screw us.  Now we can shop around and with the market the way it is, other providers are dying to get us onto their books and so gave us a relatively great deal. (Relative to UHC.)

And I am not confusing will not turn away with free.  They will not turn you away, even if you have never paid an emergency room bill.  Therefore, since you don’t have to pay for services rendered, by definition, it is free.

don’t step foot in Circus Circus…. its the biggest dump in the world. The only thing good about CC is that nice steakhouse which you need to secure in advance to have any hope of getting a reservation.

Gold Coast is a great local casino and has the best food. It blows away Rio or anything else.

      Its also great for Poker.

Craps is best at Binions casino ( on freemont)

Make sure you goto Bellagio at night and watch the watershow and visit the floral room. No kids are allowed which is great.

Ceasars Palace has nice shopping area in back.

Vegas has a nice water park and since it will be very hot, you may enjoy this.

Tropicana has an area where you can play games while floating in water and drinking. nice in afternoon.

Imperial Palace has a cool museum where you can see Hitlers car and Tojos car as well as all sorts of original movie cars

Four Kegs has the best Stromboli you will ever eat in your life. Its basically a offstrip bar, but with amazing food

Venetian has great opera singers which perform in their great halls. You can take a gondola ride too.

I’ve had no A&A games since tying the knot in '06.

So far, it has been worth it.
Married life has its challenges, but with the right goals and actions on all 3 of your parts, you should do fine.

      Congrats, CC.

Hey cool, I know a guy who works at Ballard (which will be making the fuel cells)

Zero-emission is not entirely accurate. You have to consider the source of the energy used to charge the fuel cells. It’d be pretty ironic if they’re using coal-fired power plants in BC…

      ?

With my regular driving, I could ALMOST get away with an all electric, so long as Angel had a car with gasoline that we could travel in.  A Plug-in Hybrid would take the “almost” out of that statement.

I would run on pure stored household current 99% of the time, and the engine would kick in only on longer trips, etc.  My BIGGEST problem with be gasoline going “stale” and the need to add fuel stabilizer to each tank of gasoline (so my per-tank costs would rise).  But if you only buy 1-2 tanks per year…  I’d end up with mileage somewhere above 400 mpg, unless the plug-in hybrid is designed to run the engine from time to time just to prevent that stale fuel issue…

To me it is a no-brainer to create plug-in hybrids AND to have more than just the damn Prius to choose from.  Jen mentioned her Caliber… good looking car, and if it was available as a plug-in hybrid I would probably own one, even if the mileage was “only” in the 90mpg range because of the higher power demand for the larger vehicle.

      Ok.  I watched the clip.

Not a something I’m interested in.

Rock climbing, parachuting, etc are not that interesting to me.  I suspect I have had enough honest to God close calls in life that I don’t go looking for them as part of my entertainment.  None of those activities compare to the rush of taking enemy fire.  Willingly going into a combat zone knowing that your job is to perform a specified task regardless of whether you live to come home is enough of an adrenaline rush for me.

Add the lack of boobies and it just does not draw my interest.

Not just an issue with the mental problems.

Consider that in an all volunteer force, people want to deploy to war zones. (really)  Now realize that there are a whole host of self reported medical issues that can potentially keep you from deploying.

If you want to deploy, are you going to mention your asthma or are you going to pack along a 180 day supply of treatment?

I know that about half the folks on my volunteer list were more in the 90% range physically than 100% but I also knew that they had the drive and desire to ignore or work through the various aches and pains.  I was doing the same thing.  800mg of Motrin every evening before bed was what allowed me to work the hours required.

PTSD?  I don’t expect any of my sailors will self-report on that until after they retire.  In the mean time I just make sure they all know I have a spare bedroom and will listen for as long as they want to talk.

The general recommendation seems to be to try not to move the toolbar too close to the edge of the screen.  This will hopefully help you avoid “losing it” in the future.

      @froodster:

I have a friend who stayed in Baghdad during the Allied bombing as a human rights observer. She belonged to the same organization that later had three members kidnapped. If any of you right-wingers want to get really riled up, go check out their website at http://cpt.org - which incidentally was the first website I ever designed.

the funny thing about these guys are they are from ethnic and cultural groups which traditionally vote “conservative”.

You can find a LOT of them by searching some of the well known ships and moving up the hierarchy at some sites to get the other ships.
