One Artillery supports one infantry
Two artillery support two infantry etc.
Yes, you can then move the supported infantry to #2 on the battle strip
R1 = Russias first turn (R2 = 2nd turn etc.)
G1 = Germany first turn
Hope that helps!

@Rakeman:
I’m surprised more people aren’t suggesting attacking the American fleet G1 with that sub… 1/3rd chance you sink 2 transports and 1 cruiser for nothing (I did some simple math… 1/3rd chance you sink them, 1/3rd chance they sink you - 2/3 * 1/2, and a 1/3rd chance a second round of combat, so basically it’s a 50/50. But if you win, you do 26 IPC worth of damage, vs. taking 6 IPC worth of damage if you lose). I personally consider this strategy kind of cheap, as it’s a decent risk but extremely high reward. Of course, it will put the UK in a much better position as you are letting their navy start out at nearly full strength. Perhaps that is the balance - having to deal with a full strength UK navy?
Thoughts on the G1 sub move?
I’m usually allies when I play, and my usual opponent often pulls this move and is often successful on his first hit. It definitely changes my US first round buys when the sub hits. Maybe this is why I’m not a fan of this move! Although, if the tables are turned and I am playing as axis, I will usually opt for this move unless I’m playing againist an abosolute rookie who is new to the game and playing as US for the first time.
It might be safer, but I think its a good idea to not let the british fighter survive. I Vote Egypt.
Are you using the fighter escort rule?
This is obviously an unfair question, as it depends what your plan is.
I like destroyers as fodder (since they can take plane hits), Aircraft Carriers for versatility. I find that I usually do not purchase too many cruisers, as I would rather shell out the extra 7IPCs to get a battleship (which still doesnt happen very often).
If you have a fleet of 3 or so battleships, it can be great as they would each be able to take a hit and still survive.
Theres no way to solve this “dilemma” as the Germans move before the British. Just be thankful that the germans dont try to sneak attack (and hit) the US cruiser and transports just off the coast of EUS.
I think you need to look at older threads
I have also been pulling this move when I’ve played germany. Seems like an easy wipeout :?
I greatly appreciate you clarifying this for me!
One more question then - Once the destroyer is destroyed, can the subs submerge?
Air units can’t hit subs unless there is a destroyer friendly to them in the battle. Without a destroyer, sending the bomber is useless. With a destroyer, the bomber could hit the subs until the subs hit the destroyer.
Dont mean to hijack the thread… Just wanted to confirm. I previously understood that planes could NEVER hit subs, and vice versa? So if I send in a destroyer, I can also hit the subs with my planes? At this point the sub cannot submerge as there is a destroyer present, but can the subs do any damage to the planes?
And they cover this in the Rulebook…only one Bombardment per Transport off-loading.
Just to confrim, as I do not have a rulebook in front of me, is it not - One bombardment per UNIT offloaded? (as stated in the posts above?)
@Chompers#2:
my opponent used his transport to get five inf into India on turn one
This makes it sound like he used ONE transport to bring in 5 infantry. Was that the case? I dont mean to pick apart your words, I was just curious.
Thank you so much for the clairification, I greatly appreciate it!
Ok, I was pretty sure that the only fighetrs that can be placed on a newly mobilized AC were theose figs that were also newly mobilized that same turn…
After reading a few threads I’m understanding this differently.
Sorry for all the rookie questions, and I swear, I do look at the rule book, however would greatly appreciate the clairification.
Thanks!
@c64:
Bruce Willis ? You mean something like this ?
Or did you mean Eisenhower ? ( he looks more like Bruce Willis)
:-D
My bad, I was thinking Eisenhower (by “top” I must have been thinking “top layer”)
Nice photoshop :-)
At first glance, I thought it was Bruce Willis :-D
:-) Thanks, thats how i’ve been playing
Sorry for the newb questions! This board is great!
If I may also ask a question, somewhat similar to situation #1.
If germany is making an attack on russia, and an adjacent territory is occupied by russia, however does not contain any units, may a german tank blitz through on its way to the battle and claim that unoccupied russian territory?
