I believe around the year 2004 I purchased two great axis and allies maps created by a gentleman by the name of Ralph Boerke from Waterloo Canada. The maps were laminated and the first one was a 1942 world map. The second one was a Europe only map. Anyways I just found both maps at my parents house. I have played the world map and loved it as Ralph included different rules for his game. The Europe only map is huge! I never played it though :(. Has anyone ever played this A&A Europe map created by Ralph? I know he was working on a pacific map also and wondered if he ever released it?

RE: 19 IPC bid for the allies
Exactly! It was one those games where after round one that you knew you had a big uphill battle ahead of you lol.

RE: 19 IPC bid for the allies
Wittman: yes the US Atlantic fleet was blown out of the water by two u boats. we placed a British sub in the Indian Ocean. A inf on Egypt and India. A Russian artillery on Leningrad and a Russian inf on Stalingrad. We never put a US destroyer in the Atlantic. With Russia I took three territories on the first round. Though I won all three battles, the Germans made me pay a price for all three victories. The German and Japanese bombing campaign devastated my Moscow factory. On two separate raids my factory was topped out at 16 ipc damage. I couldnt hit them either with my Facorey AA!!! From the opening round I just got the feeling it wasn’t going to be our day lol. That’s A&A though! You win some and you loose some. Next time :)

RE: 19 IPC bid for the allies
All good my friend. Anyways, we ended up getting creamed by the axis. Moscow fell and we were pretty much doomed after that. We had a good time though and hope to play soon again.

RE: 19 IPC bid for the allies
Thanks guys! Definitely a lot to think about! We are playing against two good axis players so we need all the luck lol. 🍻

Thank you for the advice! I’ll check in with my mate and see what he thinks. We can’t wait to play next weekend.

19 IPC bid for the allies
We will be playing 1942 2nd edition next weekend and wanted a few thoughts. My teammate and I who are the allies have been given a 19 IPC bid from our axis partners. I’m thinking a sub in the Indian Ocean to sink the Japanesse fleet there and one British inf in Egypt and the rest to Russia with two infantry and a artillery. Any thoughts? 😜

Sea zone hostile questions
So I will do my best to explain these questions. I have been playing every axis and allies game for years, but sometimes you always forget some rules lol.
1. On turn one Japan did not declare war on the allies and moved its massive fleet off French Indo China with two infranty on a transport. On UK’s turn, they sent a destroyer to join the huge Japanesse fleet off French Indo China. That’s ok because they are not at war with each other yet and they can share the same sea zone. Boom! Anzac declares war on Japan on its turn. On Japan’s second turn that sea zone has now become hostile right?
2. Since that sea zone which I’m pretty sure is hostile now, can the transport with two men unload into French Indochina? Or they can unload once the naval battle is over and Japan obviously has to win?
3. Last question: since the sea zone which I think is again a hostile sea zone, can I bring in more naval units and transports with land units to unload? Or only on the non combat?
Let me know what you guys think. Why does the UK destroyer have to make things miserable for everyone lol

Thanks! It’s something to keep a eye on in the future for sure :)

Industrial complex in Norway for the Americans? What do you guys think.
We were playing a great game last week and my colleague who played UK and I was USA thought about putting a IC in Norway. We thought if we did this we could somewhat relieve pressure off Russia by having USA build two tanks a turn. Instead we hit France and had pretty much a stalemate with the Germans and never broke out of France. Has anyone bought a IC in Norway? Is it worth it?

RE: Best Way for Germany to Bomb Russian Factories?
Hey Jason and everyone. When I play 1942 2nd edition and play with Germany, I usually like to use my bomber in Egypt on the first round. After that I like to take out any left over allied ships. After that its usually bombing raids either on Stalingrad and eventually Moscow. Knowing my luck though my bomber gets shot down with a AA lol. We should try those national objectives Jason that you came up with after our first game. It’s good to add some flavor to the game.

RE: Global 1940 video after 11 rounds of play
Here’s the video. Axis win in the beginning of the 18 round.
I played UK, Anzac, China, and France. We used the balance mod. Karl R just a tuff opponent for us. One day we will get him lol. -
RE: National Objectives
Hey! For shits and giggles I have recently used anniversary’s NO’s and 1941 set up on my second edition board. It works great! It adds more spice into the game! At first I thought the axis were going to cream the allies due to the NO’s. It actually plays pretty even maybe even favoring the allies. I also added Italy as a minor just like anniversary. You should try it out. It’s something different than the normal 1942 second edition set up. 😜

RE: Global 1940 video after 11 rounds of play
Thanks my friend. Yeah my ally who is playing USA has lots of subs and bombers to counter attack the Japanese fleet just in case it does win the naval battle. Yes we have more $ than Japan so the rebuilding is quicker like you said. USA has like 100 IPC’s and Anzac at 29. Looking forward to play the game again in a few weeks.

RE: 1942 Game in Progress
Nice video! Looking forward to more videos. Did the allies get a bid?

RE: Global 1940 video after 11 rounds of play
Thanks guys! I’m just worried about the Japanese fleet. Its massive but we also have a huge fleet. We shall see what happens in a few weeks.

RE: Global 1940 video after 11 rounds of play
I hope your right about a allied win lol. Yes Italy is out of control right now. I did the Taranto raid and was successful as the axis didn’t scramble any of its fighters. It left me with a loaded aircraft carrier, destroyer, and a cruiser. Germany attacked me with its airforce and I didn’t get one freaking hit on my opponent. I did attack the Italian fleet in Malta and my cruiser sunk the destroyer but the destroyer took my cruiser down. That left Italy with two total transports in the med. Quickly it allowed my opponent to transfer units from the Italian mainland into Africa. I pulled everyone back to Egypt. I couldn’t send resources there because it was early in the game and I was trying to build up a defense in Britain pending a German sea lion. Also the Italian ships were controlling the med. America was neutral and was concentrating more on the pacific for build ups. Egypt was going to have to hold out with what it had and Italy was constantly getting units into Africa with those damn two transports. Egypt fell on round 2. Then Italy built a IC and it was over for Uk in Africa.
