Both maps have been sold.

Japan is ridiculously strong (but then is on 1940 too).
Germany can be held a while and Italy should not grow at all, but the U.S. must invest nearly all its income in the Pacific.
Still makes a refreshing change from 1940 though.

Last weekend I played Germany, and my friends played italy, Sov and UK/US.

After 7 rounds we concluded that Axis would win: The Germans was 1-2 areas away from Moscow and Stalingrad with 11 tanks, 12 inf, 4 art, 4 TACs and a bomber. Moskva has like 3 units and very low income. Also, Italy had captured Egypt on I4 og I5, and secured it with a minor IC. The US was still a large threath coming underbelly towards South France, Italy and north Africa.

Key facts

Germany viped all royal navy outside UK with the loss of 4 subs and 3 planes. Attacked France with all land units (exc 2 for Normandie) and 3 planes. Lost all ground except 3 tanks. - Ger Built factory in Romania and later Ukraine. Ger attacked Soviet on G4. Soviet produced superstacks on 2 of 3 front areas. They got wiped thanks to tanks/TAC combos. Germany had Italy ferry 2 infantery to Middle east, which later walked into Egypt for that sweet bonus. UK challenged Med with carrier on UK2 or 3, and it was painful for italy to rid. Had to buy subs to block and prepare for sneak attacks. Worked well. Iraq was attacked by UK, and lost. Retaken by Italy.

Ok, not very structured or detailed overview, but u get the picture. Axis victory.

Tally one for the Axis this weekend.  It was a good war and the Axis won a few key battles with some luckier rolls than the Allies ,  no Sea Lion or fake Sea Lion just Barbarossa .  Japan went after China and the Soviet Union on one,  set up for landings in the Philippines Aleutians Hong Kong the Pearl Harbor battle and Borneo I also put pressure on ANZAC with my Carrier and Destroyer from the Caroline Islands.  I brought the Carrier and planes up to hit Hawaii along with the Destroyer . J1 was 2 Trans and 2 Subs. J2 was 1 Carrier 1Dest 2 Subs 1Trans.  J3 was a Minor Fact, Inf, Art enough to fill my Trans and the rest on Navy.  I was lucky on a few key battles to keep the USA at bay time after time, of the 4 times I’ve pulled Japan out of the cup,  the Axis have won 2. My Axis partner, this was the first time he’s pulled Germany, he’s had 10 or so games to see how everybody else has played the Axis.  Yes Japan has taken some real beatings.

Sending a UK AA gun to China is a good move if Jap strikes first (J1 or J2 attack), but I wouldn’t do it if Jap didn’t start war. If Japan doesn’t provoke war sending a UK AA gun to China (rd #2) will require a Dec of War by the UK on Japan, allowing Japan to fight only UK/Anz w/o bringing the US in (also won’t trigger US $40 bonus early). As UK or Anz you really don’t want to make the first move if Japan hasn’t attacked yet. Sit back and collect the extra income (NO’s/Dutch) and build your forces. I would move the UK AA gun up to Burma UK1, then if Japan strikes first (attacks UK, Anz, Dutch or US) try to get it to China.
