I don’t have a usual plan. With less than two dozen games played, I’m still experimenting. Maybe after game 1000 I will start to have a usual plan.

RE: AA50 House Rule for 'Neutral' Countries
Maybe those neutrals should have a standing army/navy/air units that you have to either convince to join your side, or attack and take them by force.

RE: Anti Aircraft Ownership question
Liberated AAs become the color of the territory. So if the british liberate a soviet territory with an aa, the aa becomes soviet.

RE: AA50: What are the rules regarding sharing Carriers?
In short, if America lands Fighters on a British Carrier, what happens:
A. When the British Carrier moves.
B. When the British Carrier is attacked.A: the american fighters are cargo.
B: the american fighters defend.
@aa50Rulebook:Multinational Defense: When a space containing a multinational force is attacked, all its units defend together. The attacker fires first as usual. If a hit is scored, the defenders mutually determine the casualty. If they cannot agree, the attacker chooses.
Each defender rolls separately for his or her units. -

You are correct Nickiow, I should have left your quote out as I responding to CJenn.

RE: National Advantages in AA50
@Cmdr:
Okay, I stand corrected on Germany.
I also think America should get them. America used their airborne heavily from what I understand. Wasn’t the entire German offensive during the Battle of the Bulge stopped by American airborne units?
Well Airborne will tell you yes and that they did not need Patton to relive them. But since they got there in trucks its a moot point really, and besides in 41 the US lacked them almost entirly, unlike the SU who had the worlds largest trained Airborne force.
Battle of the Bulge at Arrdennes was a German offensive campaign, I think you mean the book and movie “A Bridge Too Far” when the us and uk paratroopers attempted to secure bridges across holland to german border for monty’s advance.

RE: Lots of new Forum Users lately?
Also because this is the only site hosting decent AA50 games online! The rest are not as organized with their dice rollers yet.

RE: Games like A&A?
Might be a stretch for what you were looking but there is a game called Twilight Imperium that is suprising A&A-like:
The theme is space, picture Star Wars, the galactic senate and all.
It uses the A&A battle mechanic, except with a d10 instead of a d6.
Intsead of ferrying troops around on ocean-going transports, you ferry them around on space-going transports. In fact, the game uses a lot of the A&A naval mechanics, from fighters on carriers, transporting troops, bombardment, etc.
You have planetary defense systems that act like AA Guns and can upgraded to act like A&A-style rockets.
You have a couple of tech tracks you can advance on by spending on R&D like in most A&A games.
The game add a deplomacy phase and action cards.
I have the original 1st and 2nd editions of the game. They reworked it in the 3rd edition, but I haven’t tried that one yet.
Its from Fantasy Flight Games, IIRC.
3rd Edition is a great game for six players. The random maps placed by the players in setup is also a big plus.

RE: Idea for us strat.
Wouldn’t Japan come back on their turn and destroy what came to Wake and prevent the turns 2,3, and 4 you presented? And continue to destroy or at least attack what America sends their way?

PS: Tech is not optional. It’s included in the main body of the rules, it’s never included in the section at the end of the manual with the optional rules.
Both tech and NOs are optional rules, just check the factsheet: http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=12601.0
Sorry, but the only optional rules on your link are the closing off of SZ 16 and escort fighters for SBR missions.
Nothing in there says that National Objectives or Technologies are “optional.”
I think you are just really, REALLY hoping they are optional. They are not. They’re part of the main rules. If you want to have house rules to disqualify technology that’s fine, but those are house rules, not out of the box rules.
And really, technology is much improved in Anniversary. You have the targeted technology of Revised with the randomness of Classic. (You can select your chart, so it’s targeted in a way, but it’s still random which one you get on that chart.)
Page 11 of the rulebook under Phase 1: Research & Development it states “Note: This is an option rule–players should decide whether or not this phase will be included in their game.” I always play with Research & Development i.e. “Tech”, but it does say on page 11 that this phase is optional.
And on Page 22 under Phase 7 where it lists the Nation Objectives & Bonus Income it says “Note: This is an option rule–players should decide whether or not this rule will be included in their game.” I always play with NOs, but it is an optional rule. -
RE: Airborne assault
i mean using bombers to transport paratroopers say from england to germany. Is there some kinda rule for that somewhere
In AA50 there is a tech for this. On the CD version, it is an option to choose.
