we feel its not as complicated as those, but there’s A LOT of stuff…
sorry you feel you wasted your time…
maybe when this gains traction in the future you might be willing to get acclimated and become more seasoned

“axis biased”
safe to say the allies were players that have not played this version much…
the starting ipcs alone should probably alter this “axis biased” feeling…
G40 - Allies 177 ipcs Axis 66 ipcs (111 spread)
Deluxe - Allies 226 ipcs Axis 90 ipcs (136 spread)
“25 bid to allies”plus the allies received more units in setup while adding another allied nation…
again this needs to be playtested more before any “real” bias can be determined with the hope no bias is determined when played properly…
imo rather brash to come to conclusions on a first time playing.

to try and move from the “stale G40” requires considerable amount of new and different ways of trying to rightfully represent the largest conflict in world history…
to say this took too long…well “we” all forget that it took “too long” to play G40 in the beginning…we feel very confident that when 5 players play this AND they have a decent understanding of the game - it wont take so “frickin long”

imo the most interesting scenerio is…IF UK does NOT go to war…Germany beats France obviously…then Germany dominates the European theater as the economic kingpin…which is basically what they wanted…ironically what eventually occurred…
this would have eliminated both hitler and stalin from becoming leaders…
100’s of millions of lives would have been spared… -

but I think this system is a great “refresh” with the old system…
this is needed after all these years of being cramped in a six sided system…

bottom line this 8d system is an improvement from the “stale” current system…and remember IMO everyone is qualified regardless of so called level…
so in other words we need to respect ones opinions whether we agree or disagree…the last thing we need to do is argue…its hard enough to find people that know how to play…
so again…lets move forward

baron…the best we can do is art 3 attack and 2 defend…
the sub could go to 7 ipcs…that would soften strength with 3 attack and 2 defend…
same thing with destroyer going to 9 ipcs…that would soften strength with 3 attack and 3 defend…the whole idea here though is to NOT change ipc values and only attack and defend…the changes made for the most part balanced units so they would eliminate the so called “obsolete” notion…
namely the tank, cruiser, and battleship…
by weakening land units, planes, and strengthening ships the units on whole become more likely to be bought in a typical game in this 8 sided version of 2nd edition…
so, in other words we should try to not re-invent the wheel as much as possible so that more players will hopefully move towards this version… -

understand by putting the art attack @ 3 makes it the strongest unit on the board with regards to attack for the cost…
I think we all agree it should not have that status…
now at 2 is not right either…so…
my feeling is use combine arms for art…
besides inf and mechs getting boosted 1 attack…why not also boost art to 3 as well…
that would be a good compromise imo -

I have to say this is great IMO…
All of the “obsolete” units have been improved to a point that hopefully folks will now buy them…
Meaning cruisers and even battleships will hopefully be purchased with this new format…
Another way to look at it – units are in the stands in a baseball game right now (tanks, cruisers, battleships, etc.), but with this format ALL units should be in the playing field in terms of ROI…
Pretty cool…
Now…the question is…can we agree on a “standard” bid for the Allies at the start of a game…
I have heard a good idea that USA get’s two battleships at the start of the game…
Please comment on this and other ideas…

hey all…I know im new, but its my feeling (with regards to main man baron) that the carrier in general is too powerful on defense…my reasoning is the dreaded historical flavor view that an aircraft carrier needed and still needs escorts because it cant defend itself very well…so, in our game I feel it should be represented that way by a weaker defense (actually 1 on a 8 imo), but 2 on a 8 will work…the aircraft carrier is bought way too much because its in essence over powered…by balancing the defense folks will need to by “escorts”…look the cruiser & battleship have been balanced favorably to allow for better escorting for instance…its all about trying to get all units bought more like they should imo…
