Air Supremacy is very good, some people in my group even say it is too good for it’s cost and I actually agree with them. Now this is not sour grapes or anything we all agree it is good but for the cost of $6 we always buy a few planes and send them in to make sure we have air supremacy for all the advantages it grants.

RE: Possible Rules Change
I agree with vonLettow I do not see how the propsed rule change (which I totally support) allows the leap frog effect.

RE: How often are the Central Powers winning?
Our first game we played I was the Central Powers and I stomped all over the allies. Russia was te only one to give me some trouble, but that was the first game and we where getting used to the rules and still screwed up a few things.
Will play again next week and we’ll see what happens.

RE: Possible Rules Change
Just saying me and my group support the propsed rule change also.

Russian Revolution
If the Central Powers capture Moscow and then Russia Revolution happens and it pulls out of the game. Do the Central Powers now have to capture two other Ally capitals?

RE: HBG's Global War 1939 FAQ
Dude give him/them some time.
He said AROUND the 20th and I’m sure they have been busy with 1914.
Besides the rules are free, you dont pay for them so don’t rush them to get them out.

RE: FMG & HBG Unit Rules
I have said this before but I also use trucks as land transports
They have no atk or DEF and can transport 2 Infantry or 1 infantry and 1 artillery -
RE: Strategic/Tactical Bombingof Naval Bases in Great Britain
I think he means in that bombing raids happen first then normal combat.
So yes in a way it is true, he just makes it sound like it happens at the same time.

RE: SUBS Overpowered -and- SUB Clarificaitons
Submarines can always hit undetected submarines.
So a sub is almost as a good as a destroyer other than it cannot vector planes or battleships onto the undetected enemy sub and cost/firepower ratio is different?
Yes. Also when a sub attacks another sub it is normal combat(no first strikes).
According to Tigerman when a sub attacks another sub it is normal combat (no first strike).
I do not understand or agree with that rule, that is why I said I use the standard AA sub combat rules. -
RE: SUBS Overpowered -and- SUB Clarificaitons
The sub rules are not all that different from normal Axis and Allies.
Planes can only attack subs if a destroy is present in AA.
So scrambling isn’t really that great in normal AA either unless you have a destroyer.Subs get first strike if there are no destroyers present.
After a sub makes his first strike he is open to return fire from enemy ships.
These two are standard AA rulesNow Im not a huge fan of the one on one ratio for Destroyers to Subs
Also Im a little confused why a sub would negate another sub’s sneak attack but whatever. This is why I use standard AA rules when it comes to subs, just easier.

RE: SUBS Overpowered -and- SUB Clarificaitons
I thought once a sub made an attack for that round it was open to being attacked by all enemy ships (even if they defenders do not have a destroyer)
Then next round the sub may submirge OR attack again leaving it open to all defending ships.
This makes the most sense to me.
But the rules aren’t very clear.
I have to agree rereading the rules it says if there are no destroyers then the attacking subs cannot be counter attacked. That is far too good.

RE: SUBS Overpowered -and- SUB Clarificaitons
Ok re-read the rules I see what my problem was. I use the standard AA rules for destroyers and do not require the 1 to 1 ratio.
I have to agree subs are a little too good for their cost with the required 1 to 1 ratio. -
RE: FINLAND Clarifications
Good point about Helsinki. Russia cannot take it turn one so I don’t understand the rule about Finland becoming a minor axis if it doesn’t fall to Russia turn one since it could never fall to Russia turn one.
However that being said
My understanding of the rule is Germany can only move troops into Finland/axis minor territories to help defend not retake areas lost to Russia.I think part of the problem with these rules is the people who wrote them understand how it is supposed to be played and everything is clear to them just not the rest of us. Not saying the rules are bad, just confusing to the rest of us.
-
RE: SUBS Overpowered -and- SUB Clarificaitons
I thought planes could attack subs when a destroyer was there (then again I could be getting this confused with normal AA rules)
-
RE: FINLAND Clarifications
What turn is Russia taking Finland?
Because if Russia does not take Finland by the end of turn 1 it becomes a minor axis power and Germany can move in.
-
RE: After Action Report! Good News! and bad…
I believe your friends are correct. Germany may help defend Finnland against Russia while not at war.
Paratroopers must be dropped in the first enemy territory they fly over. I’m sorry but I dont remember does Rome touch the sea so that the plane could fly over Rome without flying over an enemy territory. Your discription doesn’t really explain where the bomber came from or flew over.
I dont think it actually counts destroyer to submarine on one for one bases. But I could just be thinking of normal A&A rules on this one. But that is how we play we use the normal A&A rules for destroyers.

RE: House rule for Anti-air artillery (AAA) A&A Spring 1942 2e - Opinions Plz
We still use the original AA rules i spot per plane

RE: Two tech rolls?
I just use research tokens from AA50 rules. I see lots of research rolls now.
