Ok I’m liking this but here is something I noticed
ok so lets say the sub takes out the escort then the fighter/ tac bomber will no longer be able to attack or land (ouch).
If the escort doesn’t have a fighter it still wont be able to attack the sub (if it’s on it’s own)

Ok I have a question because I’m a little confused. Are you saying the escort’s get Anti Sub Warfare only when they have a fighter on them or at all times?
I’m not saying I hate the rules because other then the Anti sub warfare the stats are exactly what I use, but I like the idea of adding the anti sub warfare.
Also are you giving them everything the destroyer gets, or just some of the abilities?

I use standard AA pieces and colors for this game but I am happy to see them expand into this game.
On that note I do use the Ottoman pieces and would like to see a few new pieces in that color.

I was at Origins years ago and demoing some WoTC card games and they were all color based.
I explained that being color blind makes it really hard to play these games and asked what gives. Â The people at the table told me Hasbro’s marketing and development team told them that is a major selling point to help people understand and learn the game.They asked me how I managed to play Magic if I was color blind and I explained because each color has it’s own symbol, so as a color blind person I just ignore the color and go right to the symbol. Â The people demoing the games did make a note of this and I’m sure reported this to someone, but I am also sure color blind people are such a small number in the grand scheme of Hasbro’s target audience it wasn’t worth them to make a change.

Like Flashman I am also red/green colorblind
I however sold all but the Ottoman army pieces on ebay. I didn’t want to learn new colors for each nation so I use
standard black Germany for Germany
green US for US
Tan Uk for UK
maroon Russia for Russia
Anzac color for Italy (use it that way in all my games) for Italy
ottoman for ottoman
I have a ton of yellow HBG pieces that I use for Austria / Hungry -

I wish there was another category to vote on.
I think some of the new rules are very original in theory but just don’t work in practice.
I think a lot more play testing was need before the game was released.Almost all of the single nation “advantages” are broken or worthless.
1-RR as seen by having to be reworked within days of release.
2-German subs raid on UK or US money is just not worth doing.
3-US not being involved into round 4, was okay but the lack of rules on what exactly the US could do for the first three rounds was/isn’t clear in the rulebook.My other complaint was the rulebook was a hot mess. In many parts you had to read two different sections on two different pages to actually get the entire rule. I have never had this problem with the other AA rulebooks and was saddened by how this one was written.

We played a game again today and my friend who played as the allies even said it was stupid that RR would not count as a victory city and told me he didn’t want to play with the RR rules because he thought they where not fair.

I was wondering what rules people where thinking of bring over to Axis and Allies ww2
I sort of like artillery getting a first strike attack against amphibious assault (but I fell that bombardment should happen first)
I also like the idea of cruisers having a movement of 3

Opinion after a few games
OK after playing the game a few times I have to say this is my least favorite AA game to date.
I agree with many others it is near impossible for the Central Powers to win, the first game we played I won but we where still new to the game.
The Russian Revolution oob was just broken, now it has been fixed but I still hate the idea that if the Russian Revolution is triggered the CP lose one of the victories cities need to win the game. As if it’s not hard enough for the Central Powers.
The debate over contested territories and moving out of, is just silly. The first game we played this rule wrong, but the idea that you cannot leave a contested battle into a territory that you already have units in is beyond stupid. The idea I couldn’t leave a contested zone into an allies is bad, but not being able to move into territory with my own army unless I own the territory. Shows a easy way out when writing the rules in my opinion.
Cruisers are next to useless in this game. The extra movement of 1 does not make it worth buying them, with battleships being so cheap.
Obviously many rules where overlooked when first released such as
US neutral rules and what they can or cannot do (many of these things are not in the OOB rules as written)
US transports before they are at war.
I also notice when many of these things where questioned the official response came back with what seemed like a bit of attitude at people pointing out these errors and that truly turned me off. It is not the players fault the rules are unclear or just out right do not say something cannot be done. There is no reason to blame the players for pointing out these faults in the rules.
