Want to try this out on my G40 Map after my ongoing game is finished. Looks so interesting. Will print the rulebook.

RE: Favorite Attack Spots for Allies?
@mozkaynak I tried this on a Pacific-only game a few weeks ago. Basically, Japan took out most of China (Me and UK/Anzac were working together but he isnt the best of players…) Yunnan was taken round 3 and soon, South East Asia was under threat. As the US, I joined the war round 3 and immediately moved into the Caroline Islands. The Japanese already evacuated the islands in response to a possible threat of their mainland islands. Fighting continued and I island-hopped a bit, helping ANZAC along the way. I think it was around round 6 or 7 when I setup an epic trap for the Japanese player.
We are playing with DK’s research board so the US had Super Subs (lucky me!) and so I spammed transports, lots of subs, and the occasional tac and fighter (it depended.) I strategically placed my units in a way where the Japanese player did not understand where I would go. The destination: take out the Japanese home fleet and capture Korea. I used a bunch of planes scattered around and some ships, taking the home island zone fairly easily. The reason why was because he didnt think I would attack there.
There were some problems before that however. The caroline island fleet got destroyed by a Philippines build-up of the Japanese player. This limited both of our naval capabilities for another 2 -3 turns. India fell probably around 7-8 rounds in and the Japanese player looked for Sydney to collect that final VC to win the game.
The north of the Pacific looked pretty good for me. The money islands were mostly secure until the ending of the game where Japan with what navy they had left sailed towards Sydney. I had taken Korea and then I think I took Manchuria and that stuff. Japan tried building a fleet in Shanghai but I blocked all of his coast line and cut him off. In our games, we dont do convoy raiding sometimes just because it makes the games more complex (but I think after our Europe game we will do it) If you block a sea zone with a factory, if the seazone is blocked by an enemy you cannot build. Anyways, the game was a stalemate and we ended it idk I think round 11.

RE: Ways to make the game better?
@cernel I do have a bad track record for accidentally making posts in the wrong topic but I got Spring 1942 from Ebay. Unless the seller makes a mistake and gives me the 2nd edition, I know I’m receiving Spring 1942. Also, you cannot get 2nd edition anywhere in new condition for less than $60 which I state in the post I ordered SE for $30 (with all the shipping added)

RE: Global 1943 Expansion, Revised
@the-captain Thank you! My group is very small (my Dad and my brother who is very inexperienced but I help him) ATM I am testing my research rules using the DK Board from HBG. I might try playing your 1943 variant without the 1940 house rules revised additions. Is this viable?
Also, have you testing the variant on a single board (Europe, Pacific) and seen if it was balanced or not? I might play on a single board first just because the Global games work best when we know we have lots of time to do them ;D

RE: Favorite Attack Spots for Allies?
@tincanofthesea idk. I am going to try it in the Pacific map and see how it goes. Going to do a allied bid game (our first official one lol) because last game, allies didn’t really stand a chance. I wonder if there are “Blockade” markers at HBG, well if the shipping wasn’t so expensive I could buy those-
This will be my last 40 game before I will use the new stuff I got from HBG
maybe try to learn the G40 Balanced Mod (TheCaptain’s) + some extra stuff

RE: Der Kuenstler
@tincanofthesea Exactly! It was around a year ago, I saw one of his videos about his war room and immediately I was like: “Time to do some research on this game it looks so fun!” (and later got E40, P40)
Very fun world--
I didnt know he deleted his youtube channel…

How balanced is this game? Might try to look for it.
This game is fantastic looking. I might incorporate the G40 rules and pieces in with it. If I could get my hands on one of these boards I am set.
Anyways, tell me your experiences about this game I would like to hear.

RE: Biggest gun battle ever
@superbattleshipyamato In a war situation, the Ratte’s long-barreled weapons would have an advantage over the monster tank. The monster, on the other hand, is not so good at straight firing, but if it can find its target, it will be able to kill it. The Ratte’s biggest advantage is its low profile. Because of that, it can get close to the monster tank without being noticed. However, the monster has a very short barrel on its main weapon.
The Ratte, on the other hand, is not too good in long-range fights because of its slow speed and lack of a rotating turret. In a real battle in a more complicated environment, the two tanks would be much closer together than in a mock battle. In an equal situation (flat land with no buildings nearby), the monster tank would likely win because of its superior power and speed. If both tanks needed to make movements on their own (in an environment with buildings), the monster tank would win.

@superbattleshipyamato Not sure XD I think it’s up to the players to decide

RE: Axis and Allies North Africa announced!
@imperious-leader I don’t think it would work very well with base A&A mechanics because it would majorly be decided on dice rolls, right?

RE: [Global 40] Grand Strategy Game Mode
@superbattleshipyamato I already said the starting unit changes… The neutrals are individual powers not played by anyone and be invaded individually. Countries can share units with eachother if they delcare they are allies. I guess it makes sense then to add a rule where if you are allied with someone, you have 1 turn of peace between each other (if you wish to declare war) so that you can’t randomly declare war on your ally and take all their unguarded territories.
I can see Germany being stuck in France but they do have a bigger economy making them be able to produce the units they need in 4 tounds if they decide to all move into Paris round 5. As Germany I would ally with France though because the EUK would be a very strong threat as the German army tries to recover. Planes will be a rarity and I can only really see those being viable in the middle to endgame.

[Global 40] Grand Strategy Game Mode
Remove all units on the map (keep facilities) and give every nation 4 rounds to build up their forces. All national objectives are disabled. Round 5 is when the peace period is over and now every country can go to war with each other. There is some diplomacy to this because you don’t start off at war or aligned with any power. All axis, allied neutrals are independent and can be invaded (without the others joining against you.)
Exceptions:
Japan gets a free minor industrial complex in Kiangsu on round 1
China will start with 9 infantry and 1 fighter in round 4 to place wherever they want. They do not get to do anything in the peace period.
Mongolian rules do not apply

RE: Best infantry-heavy equipment ratio?
@bootsontheground Statistically, a 1:3 ratio is the most balanced.

[Global 1940] Boots in Canada Strategy
As the US, declare war on the UK round 1 (epic strat, I know) and then invade all of Canada, also sink the fleet on sz 106. Not only this strategy increases your income by 7 but also removes a EUK bonus. If Japan hasn’t done their J1 turn yet, speak some sense into the player (using your fist) to not go into the money islands in exchange for “free reign in China or something.”
This strategy gives the Axis powers a chance of invading the British isles (this strategy had become obsolete since 2010 so I am doing them a favor) and then as the US you invade Eire (pro-allies) and build a space colony there Round 3-4. Not only is this a very important strat but by building a space colony there (you can find a piece for it on HBG) you will be able to use a satellite laser to destroy the stack in Paris, landing in Normandy and completely blockading the British Isles.
Of course the Axis are going to stop playing for food and so you play your special move: “starve them out” and then immediately capture the British Isles and getting back London. Call the UK player on your cell phone and tell them to come back to the den because the war is about to become intense. Now then, Russia is struggling because they wanted to “play fairly.” They are your little cousin afterall. Italy. Italy has free reign over Africa but not for long. French support! Build 3 foreign legions in French West Africa and steamroll the Italians turn-by-turn using Sahara Desert bypass hacks.
THE ENDSIEG: So now that Japan has quit the game, you launch a coup forcing Japan into a civil war. You control the Japanese home islands, Korea, and Manchuria while the German player is controlling the rest of China (that didn’t work too well I’m sorry guys :c) Use your income to stomp the rebellion round 7 and then invade into the weakened Soviet Union (they spilt apple juice on Russia so it’s impossible for their massive stack to move or for the Germans to take it) It will cost 20 IPC’s but it’s worth it… India UK Pacific has fallen to the US because of the UK player is back and gave their land to the US!!! Germany leaves the game
They don’t want to play anymore
Tell me if you have any awesome and effective A&A G40 strategies!

RE: Best infantry-heavy equipment ratio?
@superbattleshipyamato 3:1. For every 3 infantry, have 1 artillery/tank. It depends on your situation though.
