@Juno we were waiting for him our opponent to beachhead in greece, and he just didn’t for quite awhile, and when he did, we were ready for it as his lack of pressure allowed italy to buy planes (we are up to 4!). Which is why we’ve been able to wander up to west germany with a stack of italians! My europe teammate hasn’t really played any long games like this one, and he finally understands why i start the game shuffling a couple infantry every turn to Denmark even when it isn’t threatened. its nice to have a massive stack of infantry with some planes and AAA guns to fend off a combined attack. It looks like japan isn’t in danger of losing its 90+IPCs a turn for quite awhile.

RE: Japan goes to south africa. Worth it?
well, after an eventful few turns, japan captured western australia and the northern territory, bombed out the minor factory in new south wales, convoyed ANZAC to 3 IPCs a turn, and established 6 ground units, 7 planes, 2 bombardments a turn hitting the continent every turn, the Allies concede. Next game is myself as japan, an ally as Germany/Italy, against our friend controlling all the Allies and getting a 25 IPC bid. Time to see what happens! thanks everybody!

RE: Why is Taranto raid so popular?
@Caesar-Seriona
but even if the axis scramble 3 planes, it should still be something like 60/40 UKs favor?? and you likely snag 2 italian fighters if they scramble?? do you just think that is too close? -
RE: Why is Taranto raid so popular?
i’ll take all my battles at 3:1 in my favor!

RE: Aaron vs His Friends again
Not even going to post a picture… needless to say, in 3 important battles, the Allies rolled infantry hitting @ 80% accuracy… Axis are preparing concession… which is to bad, because had they gone how the math indicated, we would be in the middle of a really close game!

RE: Global 1940, USA neutrality with Germany/Italy/Japan
@Stough just remember when playing tripleA that ‘1 more turn’ is never 1 more turn…

RE: The Taranto Raid Fighter/Carrier Question
@mainah can you let the planes die? maybe i’m misunderstanding your response, but i thought the carrier MUST go pick up the planes if they survive.
‘Aircraft carriers can move to sea zones to allow friendly fighters and tactical bombers to land. They must move there, range permitting, if they didn’t move in the Combat Move phase and the friendly sea zone is the only valid landing zone for the air units. An aircraft carrier and a fighter or tactical bomber must both end their moves in the same sea zone in order for the air unit to land on the carrier.’If i misunderstood, i apologize!

RE: Do you continue tabletop games over multiple days?
@marshmallow-of-war I used to play every saturday, did so for 4 years, 2-4 hours at a time. Games lasted 2-6 months. It worked out well, and had a good time!
