Convoy routes

Well, are you talking about Convoy centres or convoy routes? If you mean Convoy centres then they aren’t really Australian, they’re british and you divide the money between India and Australia how you see fit when you collect it. If you mean convoy routes then the income from the island or territory it is adjacent to is subtracted from the appropriate country’s income. You can learn all about both centres and routes on p. 22. happy playing.

In fact, the key to this question has no matter with the location of the enemy ships. If you read p.22-23 of the rulebook about the section “Convoy Routes and Convoy Centers”, you should know that only the sovereignty of that sea zone matters.

If the seazone is controlled by your enemy, you can’t receive a penny from that territory even if that seazone is empty.

If the seazone is under your control, you can receive the IPC even an enemy ship stops in that seazone.

Page 5 of the manual it is listed as starting income.

Once you take it, it’s yours until someone takes it from you.  You don’t have to leave units there.

Certainly. You’ve probably noticed that all the convoy routes have coresponding land territory bording it. This means that in order to collect income from that territory one must control both the territory and and the convoy route. For example: By gaining control of the seazone surounding the Philipeans the Japanese can cut off the islands from the US. This means that the US will not collect any income from the Philipeans while Japan retains control of the convoy route. This does not, however, mean that Japan will collect that income yet; in order for that to happen the islands and the convoy route must be controled. I hope that cleared it up; convoy routes can add a whole other dimension to the game if played correctly.

Yes, you get the convoy route back.  For the purpose of determining ownership of convoy routes, submerged submarines and transports do not count.

Now, your only problem is dealing with that wayward Japanese sub and what it might do on J2!
