I could never interpret exactly what the conduct was for a sub vs a battleship.
Suppose one submarine attacks one battleship. The submarine scores a hit in the opening round. The battleship is turned to its side, but is the battleship allowed to fire back?
Not to worry I did it probably and so have others. Even though you may think its stupid ask any question you want. Plenty of people will give you a reply.
I do see why they didn’t want to complicate the sub rules w/exceptions and what not, sub rules are tough enough. It would have been easy to add transports must be escorted with surface war ships through enemy sub infested waters or they are lost however. This would have pacified some of us.
Yes… the Submarine gets to shoot at my transport during combat (and i should not have brought the transport along)
No… I may not land my troops after the surface warships are cleared, simply because there was a battle in the first place and the sub is still there
Yes… I may retreat my dumb transport and fighters
You either submerge or fight - not both. If you take your surprise strike, you have to suffer the return fire (unless of course your attacker is a single ship that’s neither a sub nor a battleship and you hit it).
It would make a lot more sense if you just put a “house rules” sub-forum in each category, instead of continually moving the threads around.
:-D
I can’t imagine a topic worth discussing, in any section, that isn’t going to verge on a house rule at some point. Besides the current House Rules is section is all over the place anyway, and rather hard to navigate, since stuff gets dumped their from all over the rest of the site.
