AA50: What are the rules regarding sharing Carriers?

  • In short, if America lands Fighters on a British Carrier, what happens:
    A. When the British Carrier moves.
    B. When the British Carrier is attacked.

    A: the american fighters are cargo.
    B: the american fighters defend.
    @aa50Rulebook:

    Multinational Defense: When a space containing a multinational force is attacked, all its units defend together. The attacker fires first as usual. If a hit is scored, the defenders mutually determine the casualty. If they cannot agree, the attacker chooses.
    Each defender rolls separately for his or her units.

    CalmDragon is correct.

    Note, however, if the English Carrier were to attack the enemy, with the American Fighters on board, then if the carrier is lost the American fighters are also lost.  The fighters would also not get to attack the enemy nor would they be permitted to land on a friendly territory adjacent to the sea zone being attacked.

    That is only for England’s combat move however and does not apply to defending against someone else’s combat move.

  • Interesting.  So Britain could build Carriers into the English Channel that American Fighters from East US could then land on, allowing you to rapidly build a fleet threatening Western Europe without compromising Britain’s limited budget, which should be spent on land units that can be flung at Western Europe more efficiently than America can.

    Yup.

    Just like in Classic England could build carriers and American fighters could land on them preventing Germany from having good odds at sinking the British fleet a second time.
