Can Subs only be hit when attacker has a destroyer?

  • can the defending sub keep submerging before the attacker can attack if there is no destroyer in the attacking fleet?

  • yes and even before the combat begins…so they avoid combat if they don’t like it.

  • thanks the last question i have just want to make sure before the big night of beating my friends  when doing an amphibius assault if there is a defending boat in the waters all of the attackers boats must join the sea battle and only the transport can do its amphibius assault that turn?

  • Official Q&A

    Welcome, Packrat76!

If there is a defending surface warship (battleship, carrier, cruiser or desrtoyer) in the sea zone, all of the attacking ships will need to fight it, so they won’t be able to bombard in support of the amphibious assault.  If there are only defending subs and/or transports, the attacking fleet can choose to either ignore them and bombard or attack them and not bombard.

what do you mean with “keep”?
Note that if a sub chooses to submerge, it cannot attack or defend either.
