i am very knew to A&AM and have very few units. So with very few units what are some scenarios (battles or operations) that i could do and what will i need (towns,roads,desert,ect.). The countries i have units of are USA,UK,Australia,Germany,China,Japan,Romania, USSR and Italy. I have very few units esspecilly armor and aircraft.
I’m planning to make a special square map of the area.

I picked Sicily mainly because my Canadian Regiment made a name for itself there in the weeks following Operation husky on 10 July 1943. I’ve toured several of the battle sights there as well.
Remember that with only a few units to choose from at this point, its ok to mix and match nationalitys to get a better playing force.

Great scenario that is always fun is to get together with someone with a lot of units from the other side and play D-Day. Use this map: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=ah/aam/ah20060908c and download the Omaha maps. There is only 1 place for armor to get off the beachhead and the German player can make the beach a killing field with enough machine guns and antitank guns.

Rommel crossing the Meuse, 1940. Can the French pull it off? The hard part might be simulating the command/control problems the French had. I’d love to see how they would have done using good armor tactics. Of course, air superiority might have helped.
