I got this piece of crap in my email box… LMFAO!!!

    Greetings!

I have been waiting for you ever since to contact me for you
Confirmable Bank Draft of $1.800, 000.00 United States Dollars, but I
Haven’t heard from you since that time. So I went and deposited the
Draft with PREMIER COURIER SERVICE West Africa. Meanwhile, I’ve
Traveled out of the country for a 6 Months Course and will not be back
    till the end of September.

What I would advise you to do now is to contact the PREMIER DIPLOMATIC
COURIER SERVICE as soon as possible to know when they would commence
The Delivery of your package to you because of the expiry date. For your
Information, I have paid for the delivery Charges, Insurance premium
And Clearance Certificate fee of the draft showing that it is not connected to Drug
Money nor meant to sponsor any terrorist Attack in your Country.

The only money you will send to the PREMIER COURIER SERVICE to deliver
Your Draft direct to your postal Address in your country is ($120.00)
US Dollars only being Security Keeping Fee of the Courier Company so
far. Again, don’t be deceived by anybody to pay any money more than
$120.00 US Dollars for the Security Keeping Fee of the Courier Company.

I would have paid that but I was denied of it as they argued that they
Don’t know when you will contact them in the case of any demurrage.
You have to contact the PREMIER DIPLOMATIC COURIER SERVICE now for the
Delivery of your Draft with this information below:

Contact Person: Rev. Dr James White

    Email Address:    senatelarry@yahoo.com.hk

    Telephone:  +234-80515564441

NOTE:    CALL THEM ONCE YOU HAVE RECEIVED THIS MAIL.

Finally, make sure that you reconfirm your Postal / delivery address
And Direct Telephone numbers on how they will reach you on arrival to
Avoid any mistake on the delivery and inform them to give you the
Tracking numbers on how you will monitor your package through your computer
While on transit. Let me repeat again, try to contact them as soon as you
Receive this mail to avoid further delay and remember to pay them their
Security keeping fee of $120.00 US Dollars only for their immediate action.

You should also let me know through email as soon as you receive your Draft and cash it.

    Yours Faithfully,

    Senator Larry Musa Esq.

    What a LOSER…

No, the losers are the ID-10-T’s that fall for these scams!

It’s another variation of the Nigerian “I want to deposit $1,000,000.00 in your bank account to save it from the corrupt government and will pay you $100,000.00 for use of your account” scam.  I started getting these faxes in the 1990s, with the emails soon following after that.  Half of them don’t even make any sense, but it is hilarious how they keep dropping obscure legal-sounding terms in the message (like “demurrage”) to make it sound official.  It’s like they did an analysis of which words are more likely to get a response and loaded the message with those words – but it’s complete gibberish!

    Thanks for sharing. 🙂

You can nearly HEAR how their accent would be given the language they use. They were educated in British schools that were set up in Africa or perhaps just buggers from England.

Usually they can’t spell anything correctly, but they still try to play the game.

At the former AH forums they had alot of these losers posting to sell phones and computers. Nearly every day.

  • Their education has nothing to do with it.  There are plenty of Americans that can’t type worth a crap.  I think it has more to do with the elaborate scheme and fact they are contacting you out of the blue from Nigeria or whereever.

I think DF posted this site before, and it’s good enough to post again:

    http://www.ebolamonkeyman.com/

Not safe for work or whatever.  Pretty funny though.

I agree, especially when they don’t use a built in spell checker. 😛

Just some ribbing, Jermo, but where-ever is two words, according to Firefox’s spell checker.  But that’s okay.  I consistently spell infantry as INfnatry because I type so dang fast!

Anyway, I agree, the education level our children are getting in grammar school is shotty at best, criminal at worst.  So the text and spelling and grammar and punctuation of the aforementioned email scam may or may not be foreign based.  It could just be some 18 year old knucklehead product of the day care system who’s pissed off because Harvard and Yale turned him down for admission.

    Who knows?

I aparently have my email on the web too much, I got another one today:

    Dear Friend,
Compliments of the day,I am a chinese national, I have a business
proposition for you that will be of great benefit for both of us; I
will send you more information as regards this transaction as soon as you
    notify your interest,
    Thanks and Regards.

I’m really disapointed with the effort put forward on this one 😞

  • I feel so ripped off… I only get Porn Spam 😞

  • (wife is at work, there’s only re-runs on . . . )

One could make a game of looking for certain buzz-words/phrases:
Christian, God, Jesus, Church - in order to demonstrate a religious (read: moral) background)
father, grandfather, uncle - demonstration that one is in line for the money
    angola, nigeria, kenya, insert-banana republic-here
a large sum of money apparently variable and random - of which you will only receive a small (but substantial portion)
the requirement of a small sum of money - hundreds to thousands - for strictly legal reasons - an insignificant amount, next to the winnings, however.
words conveying a sense of urgency
legal terms and phrases - transaction, batch/certificate/reference numbers - alphanumeric,
    diplomat, charge d’affairs, envoy, attache,

They will typically ask for personal communication info, but may provide a phone number.
I recommend making collect calls to this phone number.  Either that, or provide a number that you will not be using for a while.  Request a flight to their home city, or invite them to meet with you in your city.  Not because you want to meet these animals, however because it would be fun to mess with them for a while.  And who knows - you might get a free trip to Lagos out of it - i’d recommend getting off at Heathrow . . . see London . . . .
