I’m not talking some G2 attack that’s sure to see an American liberation in the same round. I’m thinking of a concentrated effort by both Germany and Japan to take Britain out of the game first.
Is it feasible? There are a number of issues I can think of off the top of my head.
1. Can Germany cope with both the British and American fleets and still hold off the Russians? To what extent can Japan keep the pressure off?
2. What’s the best way to stall the Russians? Japan is only likely to take $3 IPCs from them, as their focus will be taking China/Sink, India, Aus/NZ, and working down the African coast. Can Germany hold the Karelia/Belo/Ukraine line in this situation, or will they be forced to pull back to the core territories?
3. What measures can be taken to prevent American liberation of Britain in the same round? Is killing or severely damaging the American fleet a prerequiste to an invasion of Britain?
4. Is there anything Japan can do to help in the conquest of Britain itself? Would moving ships into the Med to distract the Allied fleets be helpful? What about Japanese fighters to aid in the defense against the Russians?
…I don’t know if it will work, but I’m so sick of fighting the same war against the Russians in every game that I’m going to try it. Am I wasting my time, or can this be made to work?
