Two New Tournaments at AAMC - Signups Open!!!

VANN FORMULAS have been superseded and are totally defunct reasoning. larrymarx replaced it and nobody even refers to Vann formula anything. I have no idea why anybody would even bring up that topic. It holds zero value

I’m trying to collect some data on average bids for tournament play, specifically the “official” tournament rules that Greg Smorey uses.

Please list whatever information you recall from any of the tournaments that you have attended in the last year. Please only list timed face-to-face tournament bids.

When I’m at GenCon this year, I’ll try to collect as much of this data as possible.

This should be a useful resource for everyone who plays tournaments.

32 unique participants.

There 15 games the first round, with 12 or 13 in the second round.

Maybe 8 games in the third round.  Ty Hansen ended up capturing the championship again beating not only Goia son in the semifinals and then the Goia dad in the final.

Unfortunately, I lost a close game to the dad in the second round and then another close one in the third round.  Good time though and didn’t feel outplayed in anyway.  Just needed to tweak a few things and could have won.

Find a place you are planning to host it first.

Pick a date/time.

Find out how many people can come / willing to pay etc.

Find out what version people want to play.

Once you know how many games will be played, and how many people are attending, then you will know what to supply.  Also, offer compensation for anyone who brings thier own game.

Date change, I don’t forsee any outside visitors but what the heck it would be interesting if we can draw any.

Signups are now open for the 2008 AAMC AAR Main Championship.  Click on the link below to go to the signup thread.  This tournament is the largest AAR tournament at AAMC and the it starts on March 10, 2008, so sign up by March 9.

The annual 2nd Edition NTRR tournament is now open for signup at AAMC.  The tournament starts on May 7, so sign up by May 6, 2007.
