Russia to Norway R1 ?

Almost never, except under rare circumstances, should UK ever build an IC in Eastern Canada.

However, USA offers flexibility.

I agree with you that if Japan moves fast they spread them selves thin, but that might not be a problem for Japan if Germany is constantly bombarding Russia’s western front. Russia might not want to fight smaller skirmishes and keep its main fighting force in Moscow. I would definitely think this since all those territories are only worth 1 IPC and won’t reimburse the cost of a single fallen infantryman.

I guess the reason I have always taken the back door approach to attacking Germany via Russia is b/c from my experience US and/or UK can take WE but Germany just reallocates forces to WE instead of sending them to the Russian front. In the end I see it as Germany is going to buy those troops any way whats it matter where they are fought? So I pick the Russian front another reason being lets just say Russia and Germany are going one for one (not likely but for sake of debate lets just say its so) any UK or US forces are just icing on the cake to repel Germany. Then I tend to be bi-est to my Allied 1, 2, 3 punch. It also works when the Axis are taking down Moscow, lead with Germany and mop up with Japan before Russia gets their turn. I don’t think I would rather Japan have the capital I think Germany should take it in order to deal with Great Britain on their door step, but desperate times call for desperate measures.  :evil:

You’ve got 3 routes to Moscow.

1. Manchuria>Buryatia>Yakut>Novosibirsk>Moscow

2. Manchuria>China>Sinkiang>Novosibirsk>Moscow

3. Japan>FIC>India>Persia>Kazakh>Moscow

That of course assumes a build of 1 IC in Manchuria which is the safest (notice safe, not necessarily wise) place to build one.

I find that people oftenly advocate that either US or UK should get Norway.
But I find it more advantageous if Russia can get Norway instead.

UK claims LEN on UK2 or UK3. Then on RUSSIA3 or RUSSIA4, Russia blitzes a tank WRU-LEN-NWY, and claims it.

Of course it only works if Germany empties NWY on G1-G2, but I find that they oftenly do so anyway.

I was actually just going to mention russia as a good alternative to own Norway. However, im not sure what your suggesting, as germany probably isnt swapping norway if their fleet is dead in sz 5, and Uk is landing in Karelia. But i guess if germans stack in karelia and/or you leave their baltic fleet alive, they can swap. But I like UK can opening karelia for russia to blitz a tank. Baltic fleet must be dead for that option.

As for a norway IC. For one, Is it useful pumping US tanks? I think id be building alot of infantry there as well. A stack of tanks can’t do a whole lot by itself, except increase the threat on dead zones. I like 2 Trans much better than an IC, anyway. As flexibility is the key to turtling germany. My prefered route with allies lately is a triple threat TWICE!! I secure sz5 for the British, and I like 5 tranports min. I can now threaten WE, GERMANY, and EE with 5 trans of units from the North. Now I have the USA having 8 -10 trans shuck in africa, with the tail end of the shuck in the med. Now I can threaten WE, SE, and BALKANS in the south the 4 -5 trans of US gear. When germany is facing that much pressure threatening 5 territoires in europe, due to the flexibilty of the allied shucking systems in both the north and the south, they are pretty much rendered ineffective in pushing toward moscow.

I dont know who vote for the 8 inf buy, but I think it is not good at all to only buy that. You get no conter-offensive power with those infantry.

I prefer buying one figher in the first round, and 2 inf and 2 art.

I usually send one of my fighter to the East, to help defend india in the first round(s) and to give an offensive power to the grunts i’ve moved to the japanese front. Sooner of later, after the us and Uk are strong enough against Japan, my fighter come back against germany. Having 3 figthers give you the opportunity to trade country with germany without letting him the chance of destroying to much troops.

You can stack a better army behing your line.
