    So germany stars with no money? the engine gives it, and then immediately takes it away prior to research. I cant find anything in the rule book about this.

    Your thoughts? I tried different Triple A versions, and both the Total War 2.8 and 3.0

    not sure if its the version either.
    i tried and it didn’t take the money from me.

    So i played it to the end of turn, you are right - Germany starts with money. 35.

    Still working on the G1. Really appreciate Ceaser1’s predicament - a lot to think about. Even more so with the eastern front troops frozen. You’d think that would give you less to think about, but really, it gives you more - you cant attack, cant retreat, cant reenforce, so you have to decide how you can deter an attack with the potential counter attack.

    I think Avner is right in that you have to have a plan and accept that you are not going to make any big adjustments to your plan mid game - its sink or swim.

    Would you like to have the option of having US/UK and Ger/Italy share technologies?

    it took me over an hour to do my uk turn with our team game.

    I think it would be an interesting addition. Or scary, depending. Unsure. It was an option when I was setting it up. Seems more advantageous to the allies due to Japan being left out. On the flip side, it would help Italy a lot in the med.

    Overall, the game seems to have integrated tech as a true part of the game rather than a fun make it different side option.

    I can see why uk took an hour. Not being familiar with the game either, and just looking at the whole board instead of just Italy, I see uk, followed by us, and then Japan have a lot of thinking to do. So many more complications vs A&A. Got quickly overwhelmed. The whole train, truck, and material stuff is hard to wrap my head around. But I am starting to think that stuff is key.


  • @mainah I have to keep looking on the directions so see what i need to buy and build things. the fighter and bombers moving 2 is hard to figure out also. there’s a lot to figure out. I do think its very interesting though.

    The air movement underlies the importance of using trucks, material, and engineers, as they can build airfields to increase that to 4


  • @mainah so how do you want to do tech?
    what i started doing in our team game is saving the game when i’m happy with what i’ve done in each sinarieo. uk buys like 5 or so times. i’ll save each time so if i buy something i cant deploy i can go back and start the purchase over.

    If at any time you have a problem don’t worry about restarting your turn. I no we’re just starting out.

    Let’s leave it as default, no sharing. Upon reflection, I figure its best to keep the same as the team game so you and I don’t get confused.

    I was pondering G1 last night, which got me debating about whether we should consider allowing edits for the train pick up and drop off due to the TripleA issues mention on the team game, and that’s when I realized that the more we make it different, being both new at the board, from a simultaneous game, the harder it’s going to be.

    I’m going to go to work today to print a set of the rules. Having to toggle between that PDF screen and the game screen is really gumming up the brain cells. Used to have a printer here at home but printed so rarely that the $60 ink cartridge always dried out before I got a dozen pages out of it.

    Yes sir - sorry. I have to let go of the league game mentality in this one, and just have fun.
    Played around a bit with it this weekend, should have just committed.
