    I have four questions here;

    1. Does anyone produce a Destroyer unit (piece) for A&A 1914?
    2. Has anyone made a 3D printer Destroyer unit (piece) for A&A 1914?
    3. Does anyone know the plastic colour ‘recipes’ for the 8 nations colours in A&A 1914?
    4. Lastly, does anyone know if you can take some of the playing pieces from A&A 1914 and use that plastic to make a Destroyer unit (piece) with a 3d printer?
      Why the A&A 1914 game does not have/did not include a Destroyer unit (piece) is totally inexplicable and, quite frankly, plain stupid.

    Why the A&A 1914 game does not have/did not include a Destroyer unit (piece) is totally inexplicable and, quite frankly, plain stupid.

    The primary role of destroyers in the WWII games is anti-submarine warfare. Anti-submarine capabilities were in their infancy in WWI. In fact, the massive success of Germany’s submarine warfare in this war pointed out the need for these capabilities, and Germany even enjoyed similar success in the opening months of WWII.

    This lack of anti-submarine capabilities throughout WWI left the destroyer piece without its primary reason for existence. However, there was still a need for a surface sea unit that was cheaper than a battleship, but the cruiser also fulfilled that role. This made the cruiser and destroyer fairly redundant, and since the cruiser could be basically the same as in the WWII games, the destroyer was left out.

    I hope this helps.

    @feaborn

    It’s not needed with the limited capabilities of submarines, represent the technology back then.

    Submarines would have to have a new ability to make destroyers useful (or make either one cheap), which can mess up the balance (which will not be discussed about, as I’m not an expert at balancing a game).
