@arthur-bomber-harris That’s surprising. I think about India (in this situation) as a deadzone. You can kill my guys but you can’t keep it. Draining Japanese resources. Further away from their supply chain. But Okay. I’ll give it a try.
-
I get additional revenue from sacking India each round if I remember this OOB game correctly. I think they changed that to a one-time-only in the balance mods.
You will need a force in the Middle East to prevent expansion there as I can have 10-20 fast movers there on G5. They can blast in Egypt by G7 if you don’t have a firewall to slow them down.
-
The burma battle forces me to garrison w india. fairly even numbers, though not pips. I think it’s a risky battle for the Japanese. What is your advice?
-
Here’s the big issue:
I4/G5: Germany moves to Caucasus next turn.
UK5: India retreats main stack to E Persia
I5/G6: capture Persia, preventing allied aircraft from reinforcing this key territory, also move into Iraq
I6/G7: capture Egypt unless heavy sacrifices are made by the AlliesYou need to get back to Persia one round faster than your current proposal if your 11 inf+2AA’s are going to be able to help hold the line.
-
@arthur-bomber-harris I’ll take a look. I might want that. The IJN would be radically out of position. A large Russian force would surge forward and everyone would be in “new territory” with no blue print for success. The US navy could go into the Med and drop troops into Egypt in two turns. All of a sudden, we would have a wild west game that might be to my advantage.
In short, the bear grows strong, heading toward the Balkans. Or cutting the German salient off from returning to Europe.

looking at this today. My wife has started meeting me for lunch. good for marriage, but …
-
Okay, so I’m stuck obviously. I am a little panicked at your income. Every turn you are eating into my 100 ipcs. This is a very expensive strategy, but it accomplishes a lot. Any of the battles that the Japanese undertake are going to cost them planes. 4-5 in the persian gulf. India will cost them one or two. Yunnan might cost them one. In addition, every japanese ground unit will be lost. The move against the persian gulf will put the carriers so out of position that the 54 fleet can finally start taking over money islands.
Russia moves into Manchuria and Japan’s start is on the wane.
all of the planes of the med can head towards the MEast and viola, we will have thirty units to defend Egypt. The desperation move by Germany is checked.
I’m stuck. TUV is terrible, I think. But Japan is devastated. So, can you actually show me what you would do? For some reason I think this turn is the game.
-
You often use too many resources to fight losing battles. India is dead. China will fall soon. Nothing you can do to reverse that situation now. Mistakes were made in the bid and early rounds. The Pacific fleet will be able to hold out for a long time so it isn’t yet a disaster there.
I would focus on holding the Middle East with the UK forces, giving time for the United States to open up a beach head in Normandy or Norway. See a conservative set of buys and moves in the attached save file and modify as you desire.
-
So I’m assuming you still think the Allies can win. I don’t remember making any big mistakes. If you can recall, I’d like to be reminded. This, to my mind, accomplishes the task of saving the Middle East too easily and by next turn.
My critique is that Japan gets the breathing room to recover and buff up. If Germany wants it can block Normandy/Norway invasion.
I do not know what you wanted to do with the navy off cairo. If you could show me what you would have done with the noncoms, that would be helpful.
-
@arthur-bomber-harris wow. that is impressive.
-
@crockett36 heading to Asia for four weeks. I will be back in late August. Sorry for the long delay.
-
6.22.22usch4 (2).tsvg let’s go with that. The effort to get supplies to Egypt is simplified.
