  • @max334 Well, what I understand here is that air units require destroyer which is friendly to them. Your air units to have a destroyer that is friendly unit. Isn’t this saying so?

    @nikola1975 You have to bring a dd ( from your side ) to be able to hit enemy subs from your planes; even if Max has a dd. If your planes hit X2 and Max has only one dd, only the dd can be chosen for the casualty. You cannot use his dd for his advantage, Max should have the option to even submerge the subs because you are not bringing a dd.

    if my DD hits you can assign to your sub, but not hits from my planes unless you bring in your own DD

    Can’t Be Hit by Air Units: When attacking or defending, hits scored by air units can’t be assigned to submarines unless
    there is a destroyer that is friendly to the air units in the battle Page 33 from Europe rule book. Allies dd are not friendly to axis. hope it helps.

    No, the hits from scrambling planes can be assigned to the attacking subs because the defender has a destroyer. Whether the attacker has a destroyer does not matter as to whether defending planes can hit attacking subs.

    The DD has to be friendly, if its hostile, then subs can not be taken as casualties.

    Yes. And yes, defending destroyers can work to the attacker’s advantage

    NO, the defender can’t “see” the subs, and all the subs can do is attack the cruiser. Maximum number of hits have to be taken (defender can’t say the attacking fighters hit the cruiser if the subs score at least 1 hit)

    The DD is friendly to the defending planes. That’s what that means.
