Robson (X) vs Kilroynothere (A) G40 YGTE - game2 revenge of the dice gods
-
@kilroynothere Hey Kilroy, all good. Hope everything turns out well for you and your family.
I am also currently pretty buys with finishing my paintwork before the map for Global War 36 v4 will arrive in my house.
By the way: maximum scramble please -
@robson OH, this is going to be a fun opening! “artwork”? What are you creating? send a pic if you can. I’m intrigued. You may like this, my friends and I were able to play my 1986 game of Shogun the other week face to face. It was a blast! Had not opened the box for 20 years!
-
@robson Well, the Germans had great dice on the small battles and horrible dice on the big ones. No hits in Yugo first round! Lost most of the luftwaffe and UK has a BB left. Even lost a tank in France! Not sure if it is a major problem for Germany, but definitely going to be difficult moving forward…triplea_36714_1ger.tsvg

@kilroynothere Hey Kilroy, sorry for my absence the last two weeks. Hope to can continue tomorrow.
-
@robson no worries, my friend. Take your time.
-
@kilroynothere Hey mate, finally I made it. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family.triplea_36714_1ANZ.tsvg Had a bit of bad luck against Iraq but now the british can take that territory.
-
@robson thanks! Thanksgiving was amazing. 33 for dinner! Big party…running a little slow today.
. Heading home tomorrow and will take a look.
-
@robson sorry for the delay. Been traveling a bit. triplea_36714_1jap.tsvg
-
@kilroynothere Hey Kilroy, should be able to continue latest tomorrow. My wife and me got the flu and it was quite hefty.
-
@robson dang. I have heard the flu is not much fun this year. My wife and I go the shot in hopes that if we come down with it we might get through it easier. Who knows? Wife just had knee replacement so I have been a bit distracted last couple of weeks. As always, no worries on my end of things and thanks for the update.
-
@kilroynothere now that break was absolutely related to christmas and family. Hope you had a wonderful time with your loved ones. Back to business, need your scramble orders for the axis.

-
@robson sorry for the delay. I too have been enjoying the break with family and friends. Feel this game is off to a crazy start so I’m going to scramble all three fighters and hope the dice gods are kind!
-
@kilroynothere Well the dice gods decided to change the luck between the battles
Could be an intereting game. triplea_36714_1IT1.tsvg

@robson just took a look at the game. Yeah, the Italian battle does make it a bit more interesting… although this one is already pretty darn interesting! Two things I noticed: 1. You deleted the Scotish troops but did not place them on London. I assume you want them there. I can edit them in. 2. The fighter plan that is added in Quebec MUST stay in quebec and cannot be on a newly built carrrier per the FAQ below. https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/topic/35655/grasshopper-s-3g40-tournament-edition-rule-set
Q: If I purchase an aircraft carrier in sea zone 106 the same turn I get a free fighter in Quebec, can I immediately place that free fighter on the new carrier?
A: No, although in all other cases it is allowed, the free fighter in the American Lend Lease rule is special and must be placed in Quebec. This reflects the nature in which those aircraft came to be in Canada’s possession during the war.
I can make both of these Edits for you if you are OK with that.
-
@robson since I had time, I moved forward with the Italian move assuming the edits are what you wanted. We can change them if not. Italy lost the bomber… it’s a blood bath
-
@kilroynothere Yes I made a mistake during non combat movement. So we can move on from here.
-
@robson Hey Kilroy, here is the next german turn.Looking forward to it.
triplea_36714_2ger.tsvg -
@robson just took a quick look. Looks like the US has definitely decided to kill Germany/Italy first! Damn! I’ll dive into it soon. And this is a really unique start to a game. Like it.
-
@robson Sorry for the delay. Realized you gave me an opportunity to potentially take London. Have never actually won doing that… but hey, why not give it a try! This is definitely an interesting and unique opening for the game. Much fun.triplea_36714_2ger.tsvg
-
@kilroynothere yes there is a possibillty that I loose London. Let´s see how that works out.
triplea_36714_2ANZ.tsvg -
@robson Yeah, you never know… I’ve tried this move a few times over the years and even taking London does not give any assurances of an Axis victory! Lost a few times after taking London. This version is different with a victory token going to Axis after taking London, so gives me a bit more incentive. Regardless, definitely different and fun. We shall see!
-
@Robson UK is up!
-
@robson Just checking in to see how things are in your world. We had a bad ice storm last week that messed up a good chunk of Texas. I have friends without power now for over a week! We faired well, just lost some tree limbs to the ice.
-
@kilroynothere Hey Kilroy,
things are ok in the old european part of the world. Always intense discussion between politicians from all parties how and if to support Ukraine. Apart from that it is a extremly mild winter and way too warm. But our kids are not sick now which does not happen too often. I have to travel to a customer tomorrow who is located in Cologne. That will provide me some spare time to proceed playing TripleA in the hotel.
-
@robson Good to hear that the family is doing well. And yes, winters are different here as well now. I sincerely hope that humanity has not completely messed up the climate so bad we can’t recover. As for our government, we continue to support Ukraine, but not sure how long that political will is going to remain in place. Concerned that there are many fringe conservative voices in the US that don’t really care that democracy is being threatened by authoritarian regimes in a dramatic and direct way. US resisted WW1 and WW2, so maybe that’s just our way. Safe travels and hope the business trip goes well.
