    @FMErwinRommel After having manoeuvered your fleet to where I wanted it…I then had a major fit of indecision on how to exploit it! Really wanted phil and borneo, but after all the previous too-ing and fro-ing over them earlier your garrisons were slightly too strong to split my forces and risk it…especially as 1 set of tt’s would promptly be sunk! Went for phil as it is worth $$, and hoping i get a good rouind of convoying to really knock J income from the south pac.

    Not so easy for the US/UK in europe…even landing every available troop and plane in normandy would see them wiped out by the german counter attack…back to strafing the atlantic coast and bottling up your subs and causing G to have to spend to defend nearly everywhere…

    I enjoy discussing grand strategy with you as it applies to all G40 BM games, not just ours. Short of controlling Gibr (which usually is short-lived), Ger can’t stop Allies convoying tt’s to Gib and onward. On the other hand, A&A has given Axis much better defense than the original game, where Ger, Ita & Fra were I recall, one territory each. Allies combined CVs and scrambling give great defense that would be extremely/prohibitively expensive for Ger to build enough planes and subs. But as long as Ger has good income, it can load up inland France and Italy and even with as many tt’s as you have, can repulse or counterattack. Ger can’t be SBR from UK and U.S. can only can open for UK to invade. I can build enough subs and scramble 2 ABs to stop UK and U.S. can’t bomb my subs in advance. U.S. can take Norway, but a strong Ger like I have can destroy the beachhead and/or the fleet if it leaves the safety of Eng Chans. This leaves us with our current situation. You land just enough troops to get ten points per turn, and I retake the coast. If I build too many subs, you can just sail away. I haven’t found a way to effectively send the Baltic subs south without getting sunk. They could go north, but without NB, insufficient range. The Med is another factor. But ultimately, southern Russia is the primary decider.

    @FMErwinRommel yes that was the one I was praying for some luck in…although I would have sent uk and even anzac planes up to clear the way for the brave russian communist crusade!

    In some ways, having germany take moscow actually gives the allies more options for a limited time as long as a good portion of the russian army survives. When all allied resources are put towards holding moscow…stalemae occurs…now you have it the russians can cause havoc as long as they have forces left…especially in the usually vulnerable japanese rear

    @FMErwinRommel Yes the only problem with an allied focus on the pac is that g becomes a big beast!

    Still plenty of swing left in the game and G economy wont get much bigger now, so allies still ahve a good fighting chance…especially if all the convoys on J bite…although looking at the rolls against G, they were shocking!

    It was nice to see all 6 axis defence rolls fail, makes up a bit for the marine and dd failing to score against the air assaults

    The last two rounds on the Eastern front, the defenders have mostly given up with battle fatigue. I should get something for rolling 4-6’s in the Cauc. Well, the Russian mobile army must know it can never come home again. Smart for the Russian air force to join the UK resistance. Not much need for them in China with the U.S. in position to invade the coast. Just wish Germany could help Japan, but it will take time to get there. In a game with ArtofWar, Germany eventually sent bombers and fighters. But in that game, Japan owned China, so it was easy to fly to the coast in 2 turns.
