    make sure to ask if any uncertainty on BM3 rules. Not that many actual rule changes but there are a few - namely marines and Vichy.

    im fine with assuming no scramble/intercept when obvious but I suppose obvious is different to different people. If you are into that, then its worth discussing how to handle mistaken assumptions. I would say complete reroll. And I would never assume a scramble was obvious, if I thought a scramble was obvious I would ask anyway. I would only ever assume that there would be no scramble (not sure that makes sense).



  • I am always up for asking. If the Attacker does not ask then they take the risk the Defender will then want to do something different and ask for a complete reroll. Rolling and not asking is the risk an Attacker takes of expediency versus a possible reroll. I would suggest to always ask.

    SCRAMBLE and INTERCEPT: I will always ask for scramble and intercept; even when obvious. If I do not then feel free to change my decision and ask for a complete reroll.

    KAMIKAZES: Always ask.

    OOL: If a bomber is involved on land please ask for OOL. Otherwise feel free to take default. At sea it is always best to ask unless the battle roll makes no difference. For example roll 1 kills all but 2 units, either battleships or fighters. The attacker cannot lose on the second roll so it makes no difference unless subs are involved. In all other cases I would expect an OOL request. If not a reroll from that point on would be appropriate.

    I think I get the BM3 modifications. Main difference is, as you said, a LOT more NOs, Vichy, which I did not do anyway, SBR modification and Chinese Guerillas. What I do not get is the new strategy required based on those differences and that is why I need to play it.

  • Right; forgot about AA guns. I agree those can be unusual too since if a first attack is repulsed they me be wanted for the second wave; i.e US-UK.

  • That really sucks when that happens. 97% chance and you lost…ugh. Except for France and the Axis I think that is the hardest battle for the either side to come back from. Maybe it is different in BM3.

    meh, i dont feel like playing this out. Ill concede. Sub 1% chance things to go horribly wrong so I suppose I will lose a game like this every now and then. Similar to France.



  • I don’t blame you. It is virtually impossible to come back from losing SZ96 like that. As you say just like France for the Germans. Play enough games and those silly 1% results eventually bite you. This is twice now I have seen this happen. Once in a face to face game too and my Opponent immediately conceded.
