    Do you want to submerge the British sub in SZ98? If no, are there any circumstances that you do want it submerged in a future round? (e.g. if the French destroyer is gone but the sub remains)

    My understanding is that my moving out of SZ92 to SZ97 with the other ships during the combat move phase is legal because I’m avoiding combat with the Russian sub.

    For any other situation it is better to double check with me, please.

    Correct, just remeber that you can’t load/unload units with this TT (sz97)wich you moved out on this turn.

    As for your Sub and your Amphibbing TT, you will need to have at least one Surface Warship to ignore my Sub in this case. Your SS along the TT will not be able to ignore my Sub. Triple a does not handle this scenario correctly!

    Do players normally just leave a surface warship present and then edit it out at the end of the turn? I could do that with one of the surface warships to make sure there’s no problem and then edit it to 97 at the end of the turn.


  • @Tizkit it will work on triple a just fine.
    It is the rule you have to consider.
    You need at least one Warship to accompany your TT to perform an amphib assault or the TT plus it’s troops it brought with are going to be destroyed unless your Sub wins in that sz were a battle must occur since you didn’t brought any Warship along with your TT.

    You can of course leave the map as it is and do your amphib when you announce to me that you will edit the Warship in after the battle bc you don’t want to alter or reload/redo your Ita turn.
    But the Warship must stay then in that sz till the and of Ita Turn.

    If that is what you meant go ahead.
    No scramble in sz98.

    Ok, I misunderstood, I thought you were saying there is a technical issue that needs to be worked around.

    However I think using the Italian sub to ignore the Russian sub is legal. The rules require a warship, not a surface warship, and a sub is a warship.

    From page 16 of the Europe rulebook:

    “However, a transport is not allowed to offload land units for an amphibious assault in a sea zone containing 1 or more ignored enemy submarines unless at least 1 warship belonging to the attacking power is also present in the sea zone at the end of the Combat Move phase.”

    From page 31 of the Europe rulebook:

    “For the sake of these rules, the following are surface warships: battleships, carriers, cruisers, and destroyers. Transports are not warships. Submarines are warships, but they are not surface warships.”
