  • Very entertaining game, I fought a long time and even believed a time or two I had the upper hand but I don’t see a reason not to concede now. It feels strange given that I have Moscow and Sydney/Honolulu well defended but Japan is going to slowly eat Africa and the TUVs are just going to get even farther apart (You’re up nearly 300 now). I’ll never threaten a capital besides Rome. I almost feel that the victory conditions ought to be reversed. The Allies should have a territory requirement while the Axis have to take all the capitals; because everything is easier for them. Well done, well piloted. I really don’t understand how the Allies are supposed to win; I’ve been bested all five games so far, just a matter of when it happens. Not trying to lessen your victory, just find the balance lacking; I’m not sure what about “balanced mod” makes an allied bid too much. I honestly feel like an Allied bid at as much as 30 is warranted.


  • Thanks Carl, I enjoyed this game and your “many tanks in Russia” gave me quite a bit to think about at times. I agree that the Allies are behind - I don’t know what the proper bid is, I’m playing one with Dawg, my first game against him, and I think he gave me 12 or 15 for the Allies which I spent in the Med. That game isn’t over yet but I’m feeling OK about my chances.

    Would be happy to play again if you want. I’ve joined the league and would be happy for a next game to be a league game. I’d bid that I would play the Allies +30. You could counter bid (29 or less) or give me the allies. Lemme know, either way, thanks for a fun game and a chance to try something different (I had never tried a purely defensive Germany game before).


  • Fun game Lennard. I’ll bid Allies 25; I’d love to get them right one of these times. It’s very difficult to contain Japan unless Germany has a failed Sea Lion it something and USA can focus on her.


  • I’ll bid 21 and clarify what I believe the rules are, ie. can only place one piece per territory and each such territory must already be owned by that power. This prevents, off the top of my head, Paris from getting a bunch of infantry right from the get go… Any unspent IPC can go into the coffers of the bid spending players choosing. Feel free to point me towards online rules that correct what I’ve just said.
