It definitely is, just seemed like the tip would be the most realistic place. But certainly not the best placement for this game.
Also, I wondered how things would go in Rostov. Hope that doesn’t trigger bad memories :) I hate those strafes though. Struggled with how many units to take trying to decide if the 1-3% chance of taking the territory was worth the expected gain of 3-6 ipcs. I’ll take +12 though. Assumed from past experience you would keep the AA but feel free to change if you want an inf back.

I agree the strafes can be fun and stressful at the same time. Losing 12 is still better than allowing your units to conquer the oil fields and cause a swing of 22! Also, there’s always the chance your strafe could be too successful!
exactly. Not sure I would lose immediately if I accidentally took it but it would be far from ideal.

Thats the thing about it. I think more than any games in recent memory, they are always so tied together. You do a great job balancing the theaters. You do a really nice job positioning your units to threaten multiple targets, increasing their effectiveness. Which I feel is what the allies have to do to delay the axis and then get into a position where they can start to attack.

Thats the thing about it. I think more than any games in recent memory, they are always so tied together. You do a great job balancing the theaters. wish i could have swapped some of those burma dice with greek dice.
I just had a hard time coming up with anyway to keep you from hitting greece besides pulling back a very large force from WUk in a preventative move. I didnt think I could stack greece and hold it, so thought best bet was keeping US from taking it, and then at least force you to commit UK and US forces. If I didnt defend greece, I saw the superest super stack forming there with a 100 UK planes and was confident that would be the end of the europe theater, and while that would have given me india not sure that was a good trade for me.
Now at least I have to react to a real move instead of the possibility of a move.

yah I understand your decision process, and Greece can be tough once the allies gain foothold. it’s often underestimated to be sure. losing some of that German air is perhaps the hardest part of this loss for you.

Only thing I could have done to absolutely prevent it is bring back a ton of mec and arm. But again that would just mean you could do absolutely nothing and the damage would be done. Three air hurt, but everything else looked worse to me.
