Best Allies 125pts army?

haha yeah i think i have one somewhere in my collection.

Honestly, I have definitely been looking for something like this.  But I’m not sure if you’re talking about the same thing as me; could you possibly provide a link that shows the finished product?

I actually am expecting French Resistance of some kind in the D-Day set. They’d probably have stats as bad as the ones the Soviet Partisanss get, but I tend to field armies for flavor as opposed to “L33T-P0WARZ”, so I’m not going to be too broken up about that. I’d love to be able to recreate several battles from the movie The Longest Day, so so having some Resistance blow out some train tracks would be sweet.

Sounds like your opponent was using a Tier 3 army at best; hardly tournement calibre.

Be that as it may, your army isn’t bad.  Whenever you make a UK army the Churchill Crocodile is generally a primary consideration.  The Comet has it’s uses, but I just don’t like the 3 rear defence on such an expensive unit.  It’s still fairly easily disrupted, and just about everything can get past a 2 defence.

Your army makes effective use of the Lieutenant with both Gurkhas and allowing the 17 pounder to move during the movement phase.  The Stuarts provide adequate support for the slow moving Crocodile.

A special ability does trump normal rules… but usually states as much on the stat card.  For instance, “Close Assault”  It ignores cover.

Angriff doesn’t state “this movement ignores defensive fire.”

It was actually my first gaming convention and I thought it was a good time. I’ll defintely be back next year.

The Polish Calvalryman is a nice touch to the game.  Thay will be easy to use in groups of 3 or 4 against soldiers.  Im thinking the best way to use them will be to hide and rush machine gun nests.

Not just machine gun nests but also for going after BAR Gunners, anti-tank guns, and commanders. But I really don’t think you need more than 1 or 2 to accomplish this. It is very easy for the cavalry out of line of sight.

2 Sargeants 18 points
4 Arisaka Riflemen 12 points in total
2 Type 92 MG teams 14 points
3 50mm mortar teams 27 points
and
3 47mm AT guns 21 points in total

110 points, enough for a standard scenario with a few variations. Hav’nt used it yet.

(The Type 95 tank got miscalled a ‘tink’ on one occaision and it stuck - seems kind of appropriate, the noise its 37mm shells make bouncing off a Sherman)
